Who is Tim Hall?

Tim Hall is an itinerant preacher but has partnered with the apostate Planetshakers cult to further his ministry.

Ecclesiastes 4:9-12 says that “Two are better than one because they have a better return for their labour”. We have partnered with Planetshakers Church to form the Global outreach and Evangelism arm of a partnership with the aim of seeing millions saved, healed, redeemed and restored into relationship with Jesus all over the planet.

Here is some history on Tim Hall.

Our History.

1970s

– Saved in 1974 at the age of 26, a heavy drinking bohemian artist and high school teacher Tim Hall had his life turned upside down by Jesus Christ. Tim Hall was born again and filled with the Holy Ghost at the Klemzig Assembly of God church under the ministry of Pastor Andrew Evans. He immediately felt called to the ministry.

– Pioneered his first church in 1975 in Murray Bridge South Australia.

– Became youth pastor of Klemzig (now Influencers Church) in 1976 seeing it grow to become the largest youth group in Australia.

– Pioneered a number of churches across Victoria and saw Dandenong A.O.G (now Faith Christian Church) grow to become one of Victoria’s key churches.

1980 – 90s

– He began to move into evangelism in the 80’s, conducting meetings across Australia, New Zealand and Papua New Guinea.

– The campaigns grew significantly in the coming years seeing huge crowds surpassing over 100,000 people in attendance.

To Present

– With his wife Jacque, they have preached on every continent (excluding the Antarctic) seeing great harvests of souls and thousands of significant miracles. In Papua New Guinea alone they have conducted forty campaigns, seven of these campaigns being held at the national stadium.

  1. Shalom
I knew of Tim Hall years ago when he spoke at a Christmas Camp with Petersham AOG in Vision Valley. I can’t remember what he spoke on now I would have to hunt out my notes, he did speak about how he became a christian and how he was an artist who painted the Blue Poles painting he painted this when he was drunk. This painting was bought by Parliament to hang in their building in Canberra. He also did move in prophecy and prayed over people and spoke words of prophecy over them he did this for my husband and I who attended the camp.

I didn’t realize he was heavily into what is now known as the New Apostolic Reformation camp, back in the 1980s the AOG church was still okay but it was starting to go off the rails some things just didn’t seem right in the late 1980s. I thought at the time he was okay but then back then we put an awful lot of trust in our ministers maybe too much so rather than checking out what they said through the lens of scriptures. We hung onto their stories of what they did and oohed and aahed at it and wished we had wonderful adventures like they did in the Holy Spirit.

However there is no way of measuring either if what they said to us was true for there were no medical reports to say if this person or that person was really healed and it is backed up by a doctors report. Even Jesus told people He cleansed from leprosy to go and show themselves to the priests for that was the system that God gave to Moses at Mt Sinai for people to show themselves to the priests that they have been cleansed from leprosy so that they can go and live in society again. Jesus likewise told people to go to the priests so that they can be declared clean and can once more take their place in society.

How do we know if all of those people really came to Jesus or a man or a church denomination that Tim has supposedly ministered to. Are they still following Jesus, are they being discipled? Who is getting the glory here Tim or Jesus?

A lot of ministers today seem to be taking the glory from God and Jesus and putting it upon themselves and Tim when he came to the Lord seemed to have gone straight into ministry rather than being discopled by an older Christian in the faith or learned to grow in the Lord and His word and just like everyone else grow and learn from the school of hard knocks. It seems the more sensational your salvation and testimony is, they use you like a show pony to bring in the masses who are people coming to a man or God? Tim should have been made to wait and to grow up in the Lord rather than being thrust into the ministry straight away, Paul does write that a young believer should not be given a place of authority straight away lest he become puffed up and also Tim should have been taught the word so that he could be a true workman knowing how to handle the word accurately to help people grow. 2 Timothy 3:12-17, 1 Timothy 3:1-7.

I am deeply saddened to see this man caught up in this nonsense and being deceived by it thinking that he is taking the world for Christ but instead he is being used by the enemy to dupe millions and to lead them to hell through the teaching that comes from the pit of the hell the teaching of the Latter Rain, Word of Faith mob that pleases the flesh and not the Spirit. The flesh profits nothing but the Spirit gives life. God is gracious and there may be some people in these meetings who are genuinely seeking God and they may be saved and healed but the Lord will have to lead them out of the churches that these meetings are connected with to those He can trust with these lambs so that they can be truly fed and discpled by those people who do love and know Jesus.

Jesus also warns about when men speak well of you for so they did of the false prophets and we are to seek the approval of God not men. He even said to beware of when men speak well of you.
    Luke 6:26
Woe unto you, when all men shall speak well of you! for so did their fathers to the false prophets.

It is interesting that all of these people that speak well of Tim are the same people who are into the false lying signs and wonders movement the New Apostolic Reformation movement that they are promoters of heresy and not the truth. For the love of the truth is not in them, they will be if not already have been given over by God to a strong spirit of delusion. The old adage is true birds of a feather flock together.

So my advice to anyone going to hear this man or anyone from the false prophets and apostles camp speak go prayed up, plead the blood of Jesus over you and ask the Lord for the mind of Christ so that you won’t be taken in by his / their words and be soaked in the word before going ask for discernment when in the meeting and if the Holy Spirit says to you half way through the meeting to run to leave that place in a hurry do so for He is warning you to get out of there in order to protect you from spiritual harm least you come under a spirit you don’t wish to have which is not holy.. I wish I knew to do this when I attended that church camp years ago.

    These people are like this
    2 Thessalonians 2:7-12
For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now letteth will let, until he be taken out of the way.
8 And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming:
9 Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders,
10 And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.
11 And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie:
12 That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.

Read 1 & 2 Timothy, Ezekiel 34 on false shepherds and there are many of them today, Jeremiah 23 on false prophets and Matthew 7 on false prophets, don’t be taken in by their lying words for they are a snare to the unwary.

Rather we should be like this seekers of truth and righteousness
    Matthew 5:6,10-12
Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled.
Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness’ sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake.
12 Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you.

    2 Thessalonians 2:13-17
But we are bound to give thanks alway to God for you, brethren beloved of the Lord, because God hath from the beginning chosen you to salvation through sanctification of the Spirit and belief of the truth:
14 Whereunto he called you by our gospel, to the obtaining of the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.
15 Therefore, brethren, stand fast, and hold the traditions which ye have been taught, whether by word, or our epistle.
16 Now our Lord Jesus Christ himself, and God, even our Father, which hath loved us, and hath given us everlasting consolation and good hope through grace,
17 Comfort your hearts, and stablish you in every good word and work.

    John 14:15-29
If ye love me, keep my commandments.
    16 And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever;
17 Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.
18 I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you.
19 Yet a little while, and the world seeth me no more; but ye see me: because I live, ye shall live also.
20 At that day ye shall know that I am in my Father, and ye in me, and I in you.
21 He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.
22 Judas saith unto him, not Iscariot, Lord, how is it that thou wilt manifest thyself unto us, and not unto the world?
23 Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him.
24 He that loveth me not keepeth not my sayings: and the word which ye hear is not mine, but the Father’s which sent me.
25 These things have I spoken unto you, being yet present with you.
26 But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.
27 Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.
28 Ye have heard how I said unto you, I go away, and come again unto you. If ye loved me, ye would rejoice, because I said, I go unto the Father: for my Father is greater than I.
29 And now I have told you before it come to pass, that, when it is come to pass, ye might believe.

Remember the Holy Spirit is a Spirit of Truth for He is God and He is from God there is no shadow or turning with Him. Jesus is God and He speaks truth and He is rigidly upright there is no changing with Him. What He says goes and he is the same yesterday, today and forever. He will not compromise and never should be but we must stand firm on His word which is truth and fight the good fight of faith.

    That is all from me
    Jenny Bolton
A fellow watchwoman on the wall fighting the good fight of faith in truth and righteousness.

    • American artist Jackson Pollock painted “Blue Poles” – Tim Hall must be have been drunk on something to make that claim (if it’s true he actually said that).

“Number 11, 1952, also known as Blue Poles, is an abstract expressionist painting and one of the most famous works by American artist Jackson Pollock. It was purchased amid controversy by the National Gallery of Australia in 1973 and today remains one of the gallery’s major paintings.”

    • My apologies I do remember Tim speaking about a painting that he did that the Govt bought and he painted that painting while he was drunk and I thought he said Blue Poles at the time. After all it was at a camp back in 1986 so memory is hazy.

I know the Blue Poles painting was controversial for they had big stories about it in the press and the cost of it. I am not sure if they were thinking of hanging it in Parliament in Canberra or just in the National Gallery, there was another painting called Woman V that was also controversial about the same time too. When the painting was bought I was only in High School and not a christian at the time so I din’t pay attention to who did paint it when it was in the press in 1973, I just remember seeing the picture in the paper and thought it wasn’t much of a painting and I was doing art at High School so I should have read the article but didn’t.

So sorry if I wrongly said Tim did this I thought he mentioned blue poles and said that he did it while drunk maybe he said the artist who did the painting was drunk and I misheard it thinking he said it was himself.

      Jenny

    • Thank you Jennifer for clarifying. Your insights into your experience with Tim Hall has been helpful.

  2. I will add some things Tim is a likable man and he is sincere but we can be sincerely wrong too. I was when I was reading all these books by these well known leaders who wrote books on spiritual warfare and intercession I thought back then that they were hearing from God and were writing from Him. I was putting them almost on the same level as the Lord and we are not to do that with anyone, no matter how well known, and famous and likable and sincere they are.

The devil himself comes as an angel of light and a minister of righteousness and he comes in a likable sincere guise but he does this to trip up and to entrap the saints of God to lead them away from Christ to cause them to stumble and fall so that they will end up following him the devil and not realize it until it is too late for some. Others will smell a rat and though they might be taken in for a time they will start to question get into the word seek the Lord in prayer and God will cause them to escape the snare of the Fowler though they may stumble and fall they will not be cast down God will uphold them with His hand. The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord and he delights in his way though he may fall he will not be cast down for the Lord upholds him with His hand Psalm 37:23-24, read all of Psalm 37 it is a good one and aptly describes what is going on the earth today.

God does take care of His own and Jesus does say His sheep hear His voice and follow Him and no man can snatch them from His hand John 10:27-30, they will wake up and come to their senses and will once again get on track with the help of the Holy Spirit. Jesus did say that even the very elect will be deceived if possible so Jesus knows we can be deceived easily that is why He warns us in the word to be awake and watching to be alert, not to fall asleep and to be aware that in the last days many will come falsely in His name to lead many astray including those who belong to Him Matthew 24. If we keep close to Him even if we do come briefly under deception if we love the truth we won’t be taken in by men like this for long but we will learn to sift out what is true from what is false and to learn not to be taken in by their words but to flee from them to safety in the Lord to be hidden in Him away from these things.

Tim may have a following but John the Baptist spoke in john 3:22-36 especially verse 30 that he must decrease and Jesus must increase and any ministry must be like that we must decrease and Jesus must increase and be lifted up, less of us and more of Him Jesus. So much so that people no longer see us they see Jesus in us.

A lot of these people that spoke well of Tim are into the power ministry and the supernatural stuff instead of being interested in Christ in His person in WHO He is as a person. They don’t speak about Jesus but about the so called signs and wonders that follow the ministry. Well if Tim is preaching the true gospel that is what is supposed to happen these signs and wonders as the Lord will be working with the word being spoken to bring people to Himself Mark 16:14-20. However a lot of ministries today put the cart before the horse they focus on the signs first and give very little preaching of the gospel or the word. Or they give a scripture give a fleeting reference to it and move onto so called inspirational speaking which is more in line with psychology than the word of God.

I am not saying that Tim is doing this but he could be and many other ministries do this like the Joel Osteen and his wife and many others of the Word of Faith or NAR camp do this.

We have to be careful that we speak or write God’s true words not adding to them or taking away from them in teaching or giving a so called word of prophecy for if we do add to or take away from the word of God or speak falsely a prophetic word in God’s name and it doesn’t come to pass then we are found out to be liars and bring a bad testimony to our God and He won’t be mocked. If any man or woman speaks falsely in God’s name and causes Him to be mocked He God will deal with them sooner or later nor will He give His glory to another.

Again if people keep taking what rightly belongs to God by trying to steal His glory from Him for themselves He will bring them down and humble them to teach them that the Glory belongs to Him and His Son to them alone and we mustn’t take any glory for anything we do in His name for ourselves but quickly give it back to Him and point people to Him and say it is totally of Him we are but unprofitable servants doing what our Father asks us to do.

It is best to walk humbly with our God to humble ourselves under His mighty hand and let Him promote us in due course and for us to hopefully hear at the end of the age well done good and faithful servant enter into the joy of the Lord because we have been faithful in the things He has given us to do. We need to seek the praises of the Lord for when we have the praises of men we have our reward already see Matthew 6:1-34.

Pride is a nasty sin and God wants this sin totally dealt with in all of our lives I know because He has been working on that area in my life too and He God has a way of making us humble as I wrote above it is best to submit to Him and let Him humble us in this life than not allow Him to deal with this sin or any sin and end up losing our live and spend an eternity in the Lake of fire. It is best to give these things over to Jesus to set us free from any dross in our lives that will cause to drift away from Him and to allow Him to develop His character in us. It is true God is more concerned about developing character in us the character of His Son than His about us doing ministry for when we are released to do whatever work He wants us to do He knows that these things have been dealt with in our lives and He can work through us and people will be drawn to His Son in us and we will be saying like Paul it is no longer I who lives but Christ who lives in us to will and to do for His glory. It is a hard lesson to learn and it is a hard walk and a very narrow path and it is a lonely one but it is a way to life true life in God through Christ Jesus. God disciplines those whom He loves and who are truly His children.

As I say if Tim is doing all of these things these men are praising him for, for Jesus he will not be receiving the praises of men but will be instead giving God the praise for what He has done and are people really praising God or a man? In fact if Tim is aware of people speaking well of him he should be rebuking them for doing so and should be telling them to give glory to God / Jesus and not him.

I don’t know if Tim preaches on repentance nowadays for again a true man of God will be giving a straight out gospel teaching and will be speaking on repentance and will be telling people to repent and get their lives right with the living God of Israel by being born again and turn from / repent of their sins. That this wicked age is coming to an end and they need to be made right with God and this can only be done through what Jesus did on the cross. As I haven’t been to any of his meetings for years I can’t say what he is saying but judging from the people who speak highly of him it appears he is of their camp and must follow what they teach and be on the same page or else they won’t be speaking so well of him.

I can’t judge Tim’s heart motives only Jesus can and has the right to do so but he still needs to be warned not to keep going the path he is following but to turn again to the truth and come out from among these people and turn back to the narrow way that leads to life.

I will pray that Tim will come to his senses and wake up to the deception that he has come under and will come out from among them and will follow the true Jesus and will in the end lead many to the right Jesus not the false one that the company he keeps do follow.

    Jenny

  3. A search of The National Gallery of Australia collection database for Tim Hall and Timothy Hall finds nothing. If the Australian Government had purchased a painting that’s where it would be. The NGA hasn’t purchased any Phil Pringle paintings either.

  4. Tim Hall’s “sermons” are just packed with attempts at humour (most of them not even remotely funny). I would suggest that it is quite possible he made the claim that he painted “Blue Poles” while he was drunk but it was just another of his attempts at humour rather than a serious claim.

    • Thank you for your comment I think you are probably right re the humor and it has shed some light on what I took to be a serious comment back then and had this misconception in my head for years. Yes thinking back it was done in humor but I took it seriously. No internet back in those days to do a Google search.

God Bless you for bringing this fact to light and no he should not have used this in his sermon in an attempt to be funny as it causes people to get the wrong idea about things which I did and carried in my head for nearly twenty years.

If he did this about a painting what about other things he may have said over the years in an attempt to be funny that may have caused people to get the wrong end of the stick about other things too it must be massive.

In everything we must get our facts right I wish I did back then checked out the story not just accept it at face value even if it was a joke.

      Jenny

    • I’ve been at a service at C3 where Tim Hall was preaching, and he suddenly took off around the building, the foyer, the halls, laying hands on everyone. His claim of having “power to impart” goodness knows what, was almost frightening. One could see why many fall victim to this sort of behaviour, believing it to be the Holy Spirit. All this being fallout after the so-called Toronto Blessing.

  5. His Church is still on Marion Road and I believe his son has taken over the Preaching now.

  6. Blimey, I left church many years ago because of all the internal fighting, criticism and crap. I can see from your blog nothing has changed. Looks to me like you all still hate each other. Appears to me your full of hate, poison and venom. Think I might just stay away for a whole lot longer yet. Obviously nothing has changed. But I will say life has been good since I made the decision to leave. I do agree with you though, I do think all those suckers who thought they were turning to God under Tim Hall’s ministry are all going to hell; as I am. Might keep a lookout for you there, too. Something about “not judging” or have to “love your enemies” which HALL obviously is to you, or “pray for them”; anyway who am I to judge; will leave that to you! By the way I went and got me some uni degrees since I left the church. Ya might wanna cheque ur spellin out luv. Just sayin!

    • We monitor cults and fraudulent men that physically, emotionally and spiritually abuse people under the guise of Christianity. We have no issue with Christian ministers, except that they more actively perform in the are of protecting their flock from wolves.

  7. I have personally known Tim for 35 years and I can genuinely say that he most definitly is not at all sincere but a huge fraud. I have travelled overseas with him and ministered on stage with him many times and seen how he has acted when no one is around. He thinks it is all a big joke.

    • Those are strong claims, Silent Witness.

In what capacity did you travel with Tim Hall, and how did these observations impact on your own faith (or lack of faith).

  8. If God wants to reveal something about someone, then he will do it directly to the person that needs to know. He doesn’t need anyone to slander anyone else, as he clearly tells us in his word. When we walk in close and intimate relationship with God we can clearly hear and receive guidance from him. You should all be ashamed that you put someone or other followers of Christ on blast…Hmmm no wonder unbelievers don’t see Christ in us…we keep on fighting each other and dragging our selves down. Why can’t we love each other and in love correct one another directly without having to go behind each others backs to cause harm. Love should be your ultimate goal. You should ask yourselves: “Who’s work am I contributing to? The Lord?or the Devil? Please be ashamed and repent that God may put you back on track where you need to be and be holy as He is holy.

    http://www.openbible.info/topics/speaking_ill_of_others

  9. I have sat under Tim Hall’s preaching several times in the U.S., and I am appalled at the claims you make regarding Tim. I found him to be genuine in his following of Jesus, not at ALL looking for people to follow HIM – but to follow Jesus. The fact that Tim ministers to thousands of people world wide does not indicate that people are lifting Tim up as some sort of idol! People are going to his services to hear and receive from God. Why on earth would you doubt that God used Tim as a vessel to heal or deliver or save? Is that not what Jesus did? Did not Jesus say that we, his children, would do greater works than He? This is a total waste of time and energy to try to discredit this man of God. Good Grief! Tim Hall is no more involved in a cult than Billy Graham! May I remind you that the disciples of Jesus did not go to seminary or Bible college. They “were with Jesus”, and then Jesus sent them out!

  10. Just saw Tim Hall (who I didn’t know of before) preach at my local church. I was horrified. He started by insulting people in the congregation (saying they had bad haircuts etc), and pointed out a young man, sitting alone, who had had “marital troubles” last time he visited. The young man looked mortified.

Hall told a story about a woman who came to him, obviously in all sincerity, to give a “word from the Lord” that she had received for him. I am skeptical about these so-called “words”, but it was not uplifting to hear Hall mock this woman, say that he told her he would put her notes in a filing cabinet until he got the same “word” from God, then tell us all that he “filed” her notes in the rubbish bin.

The sermon was a rambling homage to himself. He started out with some scriptures, but then used them as a springboard to something that had nothing to do with the scriptures read out, or any other part of the Bible. He finished by saying “Well what was the point of that talk? I don’t know!”. I didn’t know either.

After the sermon he began praying for people. It started out okay, but then he started hitting people and shouting “Fire!”. I left when he started racing up and down the rows, touching people and saying “Drunk drunk drunk!”.

What is the scriptual basis for any of this??

  11. Did I miss the bit where you said Tim Hall does a great gorilla impersonation?
