Hillsong leader caught practicing pagan idolatry?

Christine Caine put up this Instagram picture just a few days ago….

“Oh yes, I did lay my own hands on @joycemeyer bible & teaching notes & prayed for an impartation of that teaching anointing & revelation. It was a privilege & honor to shadow her this past week. Far more is “caught” than is ever “taught” in life!”

Faith is taught, not caught

Let’s test Christine Caine’s “impartation” against the word of God.

“Give me this power also, so that anyone on whom I lay my hands may receive the Holy Spirit.” Acts 8:19

In Acts 8, Simon the Sorcerer sees something spiritual happened through the works of the Apostles and even offered to pay for the ability to pass on the Spirit to others.

We are not suggesting that Christine Caine offered payment for this “impartation” but she seems to forget it is only Christ, the ultimate giver of every spiritual gift through the ministry of the Holy Spirit, who determines who receives the various gifts; and nowhere does scripture suggest these gifts are received through laying hands on a Bible.

In response to Caine’s behaviour, one observer stated “I believe that opening up the Bible and reading it will have a far greater blessing because it will teach you to run from false teachers like her (Joyce Meyer).”

Our response?

“Faith comes from hearing, that is, hearing the Good News about Christ” Romans 10:17

God’s “teaching” and “revelation” comes to us by hearing the Word of God. We need to run from the other false teacher, Christine Caine.

“And we also thank God constantly for this, that when you received the word of God, which you heard from us, you accepted it not as the word of men but as what it really is, the word of God, which is at work in you believers.” 1 Thessalonians 2:13

NOTE: SCREEN GRAB WAS TAKEN ON THE 13/05/2015.

  1. That could be interpreted the wrong way. Christine was praying for an impartation of that same anointing that she believes is upon Joyce Meyer. I’ve listened to Joyce Meyer and while every preacher, prophet or teacher does not get everything right, I’ve heard Joyce preach many truths. By the wisdom and the word of God, you have to glean from the truths and throw out the weeds. Look at this verse about Paul: When handkerchiefs or aprons that had merely touched his skin were placed on sick people, they were healed of their diseases, and evil spirits were expelled. Acts 19:12 It’s not so much the object as it is the faith that you have in what God’s word and His power can do. IMHO

  2. Also, Even Elijah passed down his mantle to Elisha and he received double the anointing.

    • Are we to believe that Joyce Meyer’s bible should become one of the “holy” relics of the prosperity movement? Are we to compare Joyce Meyer to Elijah/Elisha? And if she is the latest “prophet” (as you suggest, comparing her as you do to OT prophets), does that mean the canon of scripture isn’t closed and we need to be adding Joyce’s “teaching notes” as a new book, the 28th book of the New Testament?

If she discards a garmentin at the local Vinnies (charity outlet), will you grab it and wear it to see if her “anointing” is imparted to you? Or, like Benny Hinn, wait for an opportune time for Joyce to hit you with her jacket/handbag.

      Cheers, Team Churchwatch.

  3. THIS IS NOT OF CHRIST. HELP US LORD.

  4. Only those who are of the same spirit of Messiah will not be fooled in these last days.
2Co 11:13 For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ.
2Co 11:14 And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light.
2Co 11:15 Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works.

  5. 1 Timothy 2:11-15
11 Let a woman learn in silence with all submission. 12 And I do not permit a woman to teach or to have authority over a man, but to be in silence. 13 For Adam was formed first, then Eve. 14 And Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived, fell into transgression. 15 Nevertheless she will be saved in childbearing if they continue in faith, love, and holiness, with self-control.

  6. “Joyce Meyer @JoyceMeyer
To witness means: let your life speak for you. Use words if necessary, but it’s better to be a living epistle, that letter of God to people.”

    Christine Caine on Joyce Meyer:
“She is a LIVING EPISTLE of what it is to give your all to be obedient to the call of God.”

  7. “[Joyce Meyer] is a LIVING EPISTLE […]”

Joyce Meyer is a white-washed tomb that is full of dead men’s bones. She is a cloud without rain, blown along by the wind; an autumn tree, without fruit and uprooted – twice dead.

“Christine was praying for an impartation of that same anointing that she believes is upon Joyce Meyer.”

Christine already has the same “anointing” that Joyce Meyer has, and, except she earnestly repents, she will be therefore be spending her eternity in the same place as Joyce will…

  8. Basic Christian common sense tells us a closed Bible is a powerless Bible. A closed Bible is no different than any other book, it’s when it’s opened, studied and understood that it becomes powerful.

  9. Women should not be preachers period. The bible is clear on that.

  10. Joyce Meyer is not a prophet. She is a teacher. And does she even ever claim to be a prophet?
