Law unto themselves: Hillsong refusing to drop unrepentant pastor from their Conference.

Hillsong has invited the internationally disgraced and unrepentant Mark Driscoll to speak at their Hillsong Church. To any media agency or governing body of Australia, take note: Hillsong have proven yet again to be a law unto themselves. Since when has a church been internationally protested against for inviting such an unrepentant man? From a biblical point of view, Brian Houston appears to reject clear biblical scriptures for not only inviting Mark Driscoll to speak but for also inviting other false teachers to speak at his church and conferences:

“Everyone who goes on ahead and does not abide in the teaching of Christ, does not have God. Whoever abides in the teaching has both the Father and the Son. If anyone comes to you and does not bring this teaching, do not receive him into your house or give him any greeting, for whoever greets him takes part in his wicked works.” 2 John 1:9-11

It is clear from comparing his teaching and conduct to God and His Word that Brian Houston is not accountable to anyone, not even his elders. Since the Royal Commission, he has been exposed for not even being accountable to the laws of the Australian Government nor her Majesty’s crown. And you want to know why Jesus himself calls false prophets like Brian Houston “lawless ones” (Matthew 7)? What will it take for Christianity in Australia to see the threat Brian Houston is to Christianity and people worldwide?

Hillsong protests over Driscoll organised in Sydney

Demonstrators are preparing to protest at Hillsong Church in Sydney, Australia, after it was announced ex-Mars Hill pastor Mark Driscoll will be appearing.

Opponents are expected to picket the Hillsong Waterloo church in a protest against his participation in the Hillsong Conference later this year.

Mr Driscoll resigned from his troubled mega church in Seattle last year, following accusations of plagiarism and threats. It has been reported that he is going to start a new church in Arizona.

Christian Today has also reported that he will be speaking at London’s O2 Arena in July, where protests are also expected.

So far an online petition urging his removal from the line-up has attracted almost 1,000 signatures.

The campaign against his visit in Australia in being led by Benjamin Ady, a former Seattle resident.

Speaking to Christian Today, he said that that he had grown “increasingly displeased with the growing number of people I knew, including a couple of people with whom I was close, who were terribly hurt by Mark Driscoll and the culture which he was creating at Mars Hill”.

He said he believed in repentance but was “very disappointed to see that Mark completely circumvented any process of repentance, change, and making amends to the many people he had hurt – choosing instead to resign.

“Now, having demonstrated little to no evidence of any change, having undergone no visible process of repentance and making amends, Mark is exuberantly re-launching his career as a pastor, and Hillsong is very much helping him do so by putting him on stage in front of 20,000 people in Sydney.”

  1. The contrast between a psalmist’s willingness and Hillsong’s willingness to follow God’s law is like night and day. https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=psalm+119&version=KJV

John 14:21 [Jesus said] “He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.”

1 John 2:3 And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments. 4 He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.

If Hillsong pleases the world, pleases the attendees, pleases the accountants/ investors/ bankers, pleases themselves/ other disobedient “church leaders” – through disobeying God – they are pleasing SATAN not God.
