Hillsong is famous all around the Christian world for their worship music. But what god does Hillsong worship? What god do they serve? Does your church sing Hillsong music? Do you find the songs generally vague and lacking scriptural substance in contrast to hymns?
Recently, Brian Houston stated that Christians and Muslims serve the same God. Watch him say it:
Brian Houston says,
“How do you view God? In a desert there’s two types of birds: there’s vultures and there’s hummingbirds. One lives off dead carcasses, rotting meat. The other lives off the beautiful, sweet nectar in a particular flower on a particular desert plant. In the same desert, they both find what they’re looking for.
Do you know – take it all the way back into the Old Testament and the Muslim and you, we actually serve the same God. Allah to a Muslim, to us Abba Father God. And of course through history, those views have changed greatly. But lets make sure that we view God through the eyes of Jesus, the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, the beauty of a Saviour, the loving open inclusive arms of a loving God. And that way we’ll lead out of that and you’ll be purposeful about your leadership and you’ll draw people just like the Lord Jesus always does through the power of the Holy Spirit.”

If Brian Houston does indeed preach the Christian gospel as he claims, then he would know that the Muslim and Christian faiths are incompatible. But we know that he can’t preach the Christian gospel because he doesn’t know it. Brian Houston’s comment is just as offensive to Muslims as it is to Christians and is essentially doing more unjust damage to both faiths.
We think it is important to contrast Brian Houston’s inclusive god to Christianity’s exclusive God. Unlike the Hillsong god, this is our God:
We plead with Christian leaders and Christ’s church to wake up and start speaking out against this dangerous movement.

I entered my favorite boutique in Vinita, OK and the owner was playing Hillsong. I immediately felt my spirit become agitated. Then another customer walked in and exclaimed, “Oh, I love Hillsong.” I said very loudly, “I do not like them and their leader, Brian Houston, is the biggest heretic in the world.” Dead silence. This store has become less favored to me.
It was good that you spoke out like you did! The Hillsong Movement with all its errors has permeated our world far too widely and deeply. Every time they get called out for their lies it’s a win for the Body of Christ.
That one was one of the most commented upon entries from non-usual commenters that you had. Vast majority were from people who care more about clear Christian teachings than the (supposedly) Christian preacher.
