Pastor Ben Houston of the Hillsong cult, Los Angeles, recently attended a Beyonce concert.

Ben Houston decided to notify everyone on social media that he attended the Beyonce Concert. He writes,
“Tonight was kinda crazy… @beyonce at The Rose Bowl… Show was INSANE!! Tomorrow @hillsongLA at Belasco Theater will be better! 9am, 11am, 1pm – @nickkhiroya from Hillsong Australia 6pm, 8pm – with me! 🙂 @benjaminhouston

(Our Concern: If Beyonce plugs her “menses with the pages of the holy book” but Ben Houston says their Hillsong service “will be better”, we’d hate to think what Ben will be doing with the “holy book”.)
This caused a number of Hillsong followers, Hillsong supporters and Christians express their concerns of a “Pastor” attending a Beyonce Concert and then leverage off her influence to promote their church services the following day.
You will note that the tone of some of these comments were somewhat strong but respectful of Hillsong. They don’t want to see Hillsong to go off the rails. However, we wish to highlight these specific comments:

How do they expect average and ordinary LA folks to make our weekly offerings while every single day they are living a vacation?!?! I agree with people on this post. “I hope you guys read this and I’m so sad you guys don’t know better to lead Gods people in the narrow route but instead combing the wide path. When you choose to follow the Lord you must let go of darkness. There is not light in Beyoncé concert whatsoever im not a judge mental person and I am not judging you I am just disappointed with the people of God, that are allowed to have such a beautiful platform to be leaders of a life fully surrender to God and are instead bringing confusion and contaminating what it truly means to pick up your cross and follow the Lord. Yeah its fun to do what the world is doing and no your not going to hell for being at Beyoncé concert. But mixing in darkness with light just does not work. Your souls shouldn’t even feel comfortable to be there.

Also I know you may be thinking your saving Justin and Selena and any other famous people you know but I honestly don’t see any change anyone can sing worship but is it pure and meaningful are they willing to leave all that they have behind and live a new life for the King of Kings, poor or rich that is what we are all called to do and all of you “leaders” taking part in exactly what they are doing does not make it any better. You have to be different like our Savior Jesus He knew what He needed to do be pure and Holy without sin so that His sacrifice would be perfect and accepted. We are called to be like Christ not this world. Come Hillsong step up your game be true non comprising people of God. I would so love to sit down and converse with you guys.”
ALONG COME A TROLL
A troll decided to blast Hillsong members, supporters and other Christians. This troll defended Pastor Ben Houston for attending the Beyonce concert and openly admitted to trolling (emphasis ours):
“Go Benny. I love making self righteous religious finger pointers mad. There’s a few people in this feet who need to read the gospel in its fullness. Jesus said he didn’t come to condemn the world but to save it. There’s a whole lot of condemning going on here. Focus on your own relationship with God. There’s obviously work to do. 👍😜😀👌”
However, this troll said this to Sarahhhlool (see her comment above):

The troll then said the following to Youareperfectlyloved (see her comment above):
“@youarelovedperfectly ..Hey lady.. I think you are going to find he will deal with you. Big shocks ahead when judgmental people face their saviour. He only ever spoke harshly to the religious .. Never to the sinner. If he wanted to condemn the world he would have sent a condemner. But he didn’t. He wanted to save the world so he sent a saviour. Quote the whole counsel of God not random verses out of context.”
REBUKING THE TROLL
This troll clearly has no clue of the scriptures. How can they say Jesus “only ever spoke harshly to the religious”? Why doesn’t the troll quote this scripture where Jesus spoke harshly to entire cities or regions?
“Woe to you, Chorazin! Woe to you, Bethsaida! For if the mighty works done in you had been done in Tyre and Sidon, they would have repented long ago in sackcloth and ashes. But I tell you, it will be more bearable on the day of judgment for Tyre and Sidon than for you. And you, Capernaum, will you be exalted to heaven? You will be brought down to Hades. For if the mighty works done in you had been done in Sodom, it would have remained until this day. But I tell you that it will be more tolerable on the day of judgment for the land of Sodom than for you.” Matt 11:21-24
When the troll stated “If he wanted to condemn the world he would have sent a condemner… He wanted to save the world so he sent a saviour,” the troll was clearly referring to another single scripture:
“For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.” John 3:17
However, all the troll needed to do was take their own advice (“quote the whole counsel of God not random verses out of context”):
“Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because they have not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son.” John 3:18
What was appalling about this troll’s behaviour was that they were going out of their way to offend Hillsong supporters and defenders. Clearly this troll is a hypocrite, biblically illiterate and is incredibly abusive to people who attend and want to defend their beloved Hillsong.

Well… Houston seems to like people comparing Hillsong to a Beyonce Concert (1:29).

I heard my pastor interview one of the Mothers of a victim and it was beyond sad. I will NOT listen to Hillsong music. IF my church sings it I will either go to the bathroom or bury my head in my Bible.
It may be fitting for Brian and Ben to get their heroine Beyonce to lead worship at next year’s Hellsong Conference. She could kick things off with their tacky Silent Night number.

You are absolutely correct. The “church” must cry out to God and ask Him to bring Brian Houston to true repentance.
It’s understandable that a father would defend a son online, but what’s the likelihood that Brian Houston will do the same on Churchwatchcentral/ Hillsongchurchwatch? Sadly it’s as likely as Brian Houston reading an actual bible passage in context, preaching alone from that same passage with no side-tracks to personal destiny, purpose and pop-psychology in Christianese.
Brian Houston, how about you prove me wrong and actually defend your faith to spiritual grownups here / other discernment websites (instead of labelling your critics as judgemental Pharisees by reflex). Show some backbone for once in your life. If you’re a truly Spirit-filled Christian you should be able to answer your critics very well, *just like Jesus promised*.
