HILSONG RALLIES BEHIND NARPOSTLE FURTICK?
Hillsong has made it clear that their god has given them a vision to be made into, “A network committed to the apostolic anointing of leaders.” [Source]
This means Hillsong are DELIBERATELY rallying so-called Christians around who they consider to be New Apostolic leaders – “championing the cause” of the New Apostolic Reformation on local churches and declaring war on those who oppose them. The latest display of this hostility towards Christianity and its leaders at Hillsong Conference 2016 should concern believers worldwide.
COWARDICE INCARNATE
Steven Furtick said the following in his message ‘The Glitch that keeps on giving’ at this year’s Hillsong Conference:
“You don’t bring up stuff that doesn’t bother you.”
In another article we wrote on Furtick we stated,
“We never thought that Furtick would name a book after John MacArthur appropriately labeled him “unqualified.” [Source]
While we knew that it was Furtick’s deep insecurity as a false teacher that propelled him to title his book ‘Unqualified’, we have NEVER heard Furtick reveal the inspiration of his book ‘Unqualified’.
Nevertheless, false teachers who hate God and His Word are easy to spot. Their behavior is predictable. Instead of dealing with MacArthur biblically and directly, Furtick chose where to take the fight. He chose to rally support behind himself by writing his book and now, taking his message to the Hillsong conference speakers circuit. And like other false teachers, he can afford to chest-beat in front of his supporters. A common strategy of fraudulent ministers is to play word games – just as the bible describes them. While Buettel claimed that the context was clear that “MacArthur’s answer was an obvious reference to the qualifications for “overseers” detailed in 1 Timothy 3:1–7 and Titus 1:5–9,” Furtick craftily avoided this biblical meaning of ‘unqualified’ with respect to the qualifications of a pastor and played the category fallacy. It was now the typical false teacher mentality of claiming we are in the Unqualified (“Judge-not, he-who-hasn’t-cast-the-first-stone, for-all-have-sinned”) Club. Furtick compared himself to other biblical characters (eg. Moses, Jacob, Paul) and demanded that everyone joined him in his “Unqualified Club”.
Furtick deliberately chose to rally his Hillsong Conference audience to get behind him while he made a spectacle of John Macarthur publicly. For those who didn’t know who the ‘theologian’ was at that time, Furtick managed to galvanize the entire Hillsong arena as a mob to belittle the ‘theologian’. (However, we know people in Hillsong who are familiar with Macarthur labelling Furtick ‘unqualified’. Even if Furtick did not name Macarthur as the theologian, this information is readily available on the internet.)
Furtick’s appalling behaviour brings these scriptures to mind:
“Whoever loves discipline loves knowledge, but he who hates reproof is stupid.” Proverbs 12:1
“Do not rebuke an older man but encourage him as you would a father, younger men as brothers…” 1 Timothy 5:1 (Furtick acknowledges Macarthur as a ‘famous theologian’ NOT ‘false teacher’.)
“Do not admit a charge against an elder except on the evidence of two or three witnesses.” 1 Timothy 5:19 (Again – Furtick acknowledges Macarthur as a ‘famous theologian’ NOT ‘false teacher’.)
“Let no one in any way deceive you, for it will not come unless the apostasy comes first, and the man of lawlessness is revealed, the son of destruction…” 2 Tim 2:3
Furtick claims he didn’t get defensive or pick a fight. His demeanor says likewise. it looks like this Apostolic “man of lawlessness” finally decided to bring up stuff that bothered him behind the pulpit and summon Hillsong devotees to side with him in his unqualified apostasy-driven warfare against qualified Christian ministers.
Here is the transcript. Feel free to read what he says and write in the comment section how he contradicts himself or lies to the Hillsong Conference audience.

“You know how YouTube has the recommended section for what you should watch next? So I figured, ‘Hey! This is YouTube! They know me. Whatever they think I should watch next, that’s exactly what I should watch next.
So I decided to trust in the sovereignty of YouTube and I put my – uh- the next video they said I should watch was a famous theologian. He was being interviewed. And I- I knew who this guy was. I read his book in seminary- I was assigned to read his book in seminary.
Full disclosure.
But very famous. Very well known. Very well respected. And it was an interview with him, like a question and answer at a pastors conference. And they asked the man- they were like, uh, ‘Hey! Um…let’s go into a lightning round.’ Now remember: I walked off, it’s playing in the background and I’m getting ready to preach and- and they go into a lightning round and they’re saying to the theologian, ‘We’re going to bring up a few names of people. Christian leader. And we want you to give us your quick response when you think about them.’
And so, they go through a few names and then, all of a sudden that interviewer says to the theologian- he goes, ‘Steven Furtick’. And I’m not going to lie to you. My first instinct was, I felt important. This- they’re talking about ME! I- this guy wrote my seminary textbook! So I walk back in kind-of excited, you know?
And I walked in. And I’m- I thought- I thought, ‘Did they just say my name?’ And the interviewer goes, ‘Steven Furtick’. And man! What happened next… I wish I hadn’t walked back in the room.
The theologian, he kinda like slumps his shoulders [slumps shoulders] and drops his head, [exaggeratedly drops his head], and he sighs, [sighs], as if to release the toxins at the mere consideration of my name.
‘Steven Furtick.’
And the theologian’s response and summarises my entire ministry with one word. And after he sighed and slumped his shoulders, he said [puts on voice]:
“UNQUALIFIED.”
Audience:
“Now there would have been a time, before I was a mature Christian, where I would have thought of some words in response that would have made ‘unqualified’ sound like a valentines day card. Come on, somebody!
And I wouldn’t even need four syllables- talk to me!
But instead, something in me- I was surprised, because I’m a fighter- and I don’t know if I was just in a good mood. I don’t know if I was too distracted to care- but something in me started laughing!
I started laughing at YouTube! I rewound it. I watched it again. I sent it over to some friends. I said HAHAHA! And something in me thought, ‘If you only knew!’
Something in me – it was weird. It was a shift cos normally I would have thought like, ‘I gotta defend myself. You don’t even know me. I haven’t ever met him. Who is he to say that to me?’.
But something in me was just like, ‘Own it! That’s how you felt your whole life anyway! He just did you a favor! He just released you from feeling the need to prove yourself. Now you can preach. And besides, you need to send that man a thank-you card because he just gave you the title for your next book’.
I wrote a little new book!
And I sent him a signed copy with a skinny red tie,
‘Thank you for the reminder. And now that we’ve got that out of the way, let’s preach. Yeah – I don’t have what it takes. Yeah, I feel like I am less than. Yeah there is people with more wisdom than me. Yeah, I might have some glitches. Yeah, I might have some flaws. But God called me. I’m so grateful nobody gave me my credentials. If you didn’t give them, you can’t strip ’em!’ [Crowd rallies and cheers him on]
I’ve come all the way from North Carolina with an invitation. And the invitation goes like this: “JOIN THE CLUB: ‘CLUB UNQUALIFIED’.”
I’m going to try this side: JOIN THE CLUB: CLUB UNQUALIFIED! Let me see what’s up on the floor: JOIN THE CLUB: CLUB UNQUALIFIED! Let me holler at the back: JOIN THE CLUB: CLUB UNQUALIFIED! I’m going to try this section one more time. But don’t you dare to shout and start clapping after my use of your illustration is through: JOIN THE CLUB: CLUB UNQUALIFIED!
And you know what? I realise that being unqualified- I’m not talking about disqualified. I’m not talking about living a hypocritical life. I’m not talking about having standards. I’m not talking about trying to be more like Christ. I’m not talking about not making progress. I’m not saying any of that. I’m not saying any of that.
I’m just saying that, if you feel unqualified, it puts you in some pretty good company.”

So much pride and arrogance in Furtick as he speaks. I don’t hear the Holy Spirit. I don’t hear anything from the Bible. I only hear someone that is a false teacher, that loves to promote himself. Not to mention, boring. Anything that isn’t the Word of God, is boring to listen to.
I just tweeted Furtick and told him about narcigesis. I told him that he makes every scripture about himself. He makes me sick. Thanks for the post.
In the 1st “Source” link at the top of this article, it points to Hillsong’s bogus “Vision” page. Here are some lies on that page……
— “I see a church that champions the cause of local churches everywhere; encouraging them to be all that God has called them to be.”
NOT true! Because Brian Houston has taken over several local churches, assimilating them into the ‘Hillsong family’ behind closed doors, all hush-hush, and without so much as even giving the local church members the dignity of voting on it first!
— ” A Church…..filled with a vision that inspires and influences many.”
UNFORTUNATELY Bible truths and the Gospel are not part of that so-called ‘vision’. So, yet another LIE!
— “I see buildings that struggle to contain the increase of all that God is doing; occupying land and places that are miraculous in provision and impossible to ignore.”
HOW does the Great Falling Away fit into this glorious revival plan? It DOESN’T!
— “I see a church that beckons ‘WELCOME HOME’ to every man, woman and child that walks through the doors. “
HOW can Hillsong be home to Christians when the Gospel is not preached at Hillsong, only SUCCESS is preached there?
— “The church that I see is a worshipping church”
Brian Houston’s vision is one of materialism, so he worships alright…. a FALSE GOD!

Yet NO passion for correctly exegeting Christ’s written Word? HOW can that be ‘a passion for Christ’? It CAN’T, it’s HOGWASH from a liar!
No need to say more, this entire ‘Hillsong Vision’ is pure garbage.

If I may add my 5 cents worth ..lol. seriously, ‘body language’ is a way people communicate subconsciously and watching this man walking up and down ranting about himself not only made me feel uncomfortable but the impression I had was of a wild animal in a cage busting to get out and tear something to peices. Good scriptural observation Kit. Furtick confessed that his instincts made him feel important when Phil Johnson dropped Furtick’s name to MacArthur.
Steven Furtick has an ego the same size of his earthly mansion. Both are way too big.
these are not churches they are tare meeting halls.
To dillery: that is a very good observation. There is a separation occurring (I believe) at present.
“For it is time for judgment to begin with God’s household; and if it begins with us, what will the outcome be for those who do not obey the gospel of God?” (NIV)
There are quite a few different words for judgment in the Greek text. The noun ‘judgement’ here is:
Gk: krima – condemnation of wrong, the decision (whether severe or mild) which one passes on the faults of others. [Note: it is not the actual carrying out of the sentence but a preliminary]. God is the one who is deciding between the tares and wheat. (remember, let them grow together till the harvest?) Another interesting point! I believe those ultimately who remain in these kind of churches after many warnings (the particular churches highlighted in these blogs) are being groomed by their leaders in order [I’ll leave it to others to judge who they are] to prepare them for the acceptance and worship of the man of sin when his image appears in their pulpit or on those large screens they have. Why do I say that?
There are 2 nouns in the Greek NT for the word temple: hieron / naos;
hieron is the whole temple as a structure;
naos is the “inner part” (holy place).
Please observe carefully the following:
1 Cor 3:16,17
Don’t you know that you yourselves are God’s temple [naos] and that God’s Spirit dwells in your midst? If anyone destroys God’s temple, [naos] God will destroy that person; for God’s temple [naos] is sacred, and you together are that temple [naos] NIV
2 Thess 2:4
He will oppose and will exalt himself over everything that is called God or is worshiped, so that he sets himself up in God’s temple, [naos] proclaiming himself to be God.
Co-incidence?? The apostle Paul made it clear. I won’t comment further because it gets more involved eschatologically. However, what part of, “he sets himself up in God’s temple, [naos]” do dispensationalist and those who propagate the myth of, “the church is taken before the antichrist appears” do they not understand? Both are ignorant of typology (Judas Iscariot is a major ‘type’) and the Greek text.
Hope this is enlightening and encouraging regarding the comments made here.
Furtick did a fine distraction tactic job there. No wonder Hillsong welcomes him with open arms. MacArthur was simply stating that Furtick is unqualified to be a pastor/ leader of a Christian church according to the bible.

His speech reveals classic NPD* deflection. They do anything to avoid self-awareness if it causes inner conflict/ lowers public image. However he was careful to use just enough Christianese to fool the attendees. He knew he was being deceitful there. He’s not completely self-deluded. He made no attempt to defend himself/ his position via logical reasoning and scripture-in-context.

* I generally avoid suggesting a person may have Narcissistic Personality Disorder straight away, as I am a survivor of genuine NPD/ borderline psychopath people (not over diagnosed, garden variety “too in love with themselves” people). However it increasingly seems every church leader accepted by Hillsong shows some warning signs -at very least having fallen for their own PR/ attendees excessive admiration.
Furtick is a false teacher just like Perry Noble, the Hillsong crowd, TBN, PTL Club etc. He’s a property-seeker sensitive heretic and he is unqualified.
I find it very interesting that Elevations song of Do It Again strongly encouraged my wife last week about the faithfulness of God during her struggle and yet all I read about here is how wacky these type of people are. I agree that intellect is God given and should control our emotions but emotion is also God given. The problem is that if the intellectual knowledge of God does not effect the emotions then it is a sad partial understanding. Both sides of this debate have points that are right and correct but it is in the middle of these two polar extremes that God can be more fully enjoyed. If we really know God intellectually then we should not be able to contain ourselves emotionally.
The problem with your commentary is that you said, ‘Both sides of this debate have points that are right and correct.’ It’s either Furtick is a tree you eat from or not. In this case you are claiming that you agree the tree is bad but the fruit is good because your wife got ‘encouraged’.
In other words, you are quite prepared to reject Jesus’ warning about false prophets like Furtick. Jesus doesn’t make it complicated? Do you think you can gather figs from a thorn bush? If your answer is ‘no’, then why on earth would you go to a false teacher for encouragement about God’s faithfulness?
It would be smarter to take Jesus’ advice and go to a good teacher for encouragement on God’s faithfulness. Otherwise you’re leading people to eat from the same poisonous tree.
