HILSONG RALLIES BEHIND NARPOSTLE FURTICK?
Hillsong has made it clear that their god has given them a vision to be made into, “A network committed to the apostolic anointing of leaders.” [Source]
This means Hillsong are DELIBERATELY rallying so-called Christians around who they consider to be New Apostolic leaders – “championing the cause” of the New Apostolic Reformation on local churches and declaring war on those who oppose them. The latest display of this hostility towards Christianity and its leaders at Hillsong Conference 2016 should concern believers worldwide.
COWARDICE INCARNATE
Steven Furtick said the following in his message ‘The Glitch that keeps on giving’ at this year’s Hillsong Conference:
“You don’t bring up stuff that doesn’t bother you.”
In another article we wrote on Furtick we stated,
“We never thought that Furtick would name a book after John MacArthur appropriately labeled him “unqualified.” [Source]
While we knew that it was Furtick’s deep insecurity as a false teacher that propelled him to title his book ‘Unqualified’, we have NEVER heard Furtick reveal the inspiration of his book ‘Unqualified’.
Nevertheless, false teachers who hate God and His Word are easy to spot. Their behavior is predictable. Instead of dealing with MacArthur biblically and directly, Furtick chose where to take the fight. He chose to rally support behind himself by writing his book and now, taking his message to the Hillsong conference speakers circuit. And like other false teachers, he can afford to chest-beat in front of his supporters. A common strategy of fraudulent ministers is to play word games – just as the bible describes them. While Buettel claimed that the context was clear that “MacArthur’s answer was an obvious reference to the qualifications for “overseers” detailed in 1 Timothy 3:1–7 and Titus 1:5–9,” Furtick craftily avoided this biblical meaning of ‘unqualified’ with respect to the qualifications of a pastor and played the category fallacy. It was now the typical false teacher mentality of claiming we are in the Unqualified (“Judge-not, he-who-hasn’t-cast-the-first-stone, for-all-have-sinned”) Club. Furtick compared himself to other biblical characters (eg. Moses, Jacob, Paul) and demanded that everyone joined him in his “Unqualified Club”.
Furtick deliberately chose to rally his Hillsong Conference audience to get behind him while he made a spectacle of John Macarthur publicly. For those who didn’t know who the ‘theologian’ was at that time, Furtick managed to galvanize the entire Hillsong arena as a mob to belittle the ‘theologian’. (However, we know people in Hillsong who are familiar with Macarthur labelling Furtick ‘unqualified’. Even if Furtick did not name Macarthur as the theologian, this information is readily available on the internet.)
Furtick’s appalling behaviour brings these scriptures to mind:
“Whoever loves discipline loves knowledge, but he who hates reproof is stupid.” Proverbs 12:1
“Do not rebuke an older man but encourage him as you would a father, younger men as brothers…” 1 Timothy 5:1 (Furtick acknowledges Macarthur as a ‘famous theologian’ NOT ‘false teacher’.)
“Do not admit a charge against an elder except on the evidence of two or three witnesses.” 1 Timothy 5:19 (Again – Furtick acknowledges Macarthur as a ‘famous theologian’ NOT ‘false teacher’.)
“Let no one in any way deceive you, for it will not come unless the apostasy comes first, and the man of lawlessness is revealed, the son of destruction…” 2 Tim 2:3
Furtick claims he didn’t get defensive or pick a fight. His demeanor says likewise. it looks like this Apostolic “man of lawlessness” finally decided to bring up stuff that bothered him behind the pulpit and summon Hillsong devotees to side with him in his unqualified apostasy-driven warfare against qualified Christian ministers.

“You know how YouTube has the recommended section for what you should watch next? So I figured, ‘Hey! This is YouTube! They know me. Whatever they think I should watch next, that’s exactly what I should watch next.
So I decided to trust in the sovereignty of YouTube and I put my – uh- the next video they said I should watch was a famous theologian. He was being interviewed. And I- I knew who this guy was. I read his book in seminary- I was assigned to read his book in seminary.
Full disclosure.
But very famous. Very well known. Very well respected. And it was an interview with him, like a question and answer at a pastors conference. And they asked the man- they were like, uh, ‘Hey! Um…let’s go into a lightning round.’ Now remember: I walked off, it’s playing in the background and I’m getting ready to preach and- and they go into a lightning round and they’re saying to the theologian, ‘We’re going to bring up a few names of people. Christian leader. And we want you to give us your quick response when you think about them.’
And so, they go through a few names and then, all of a sudden that interviewer says to the theologian- he goes, ‘Steven Furtick’. And I’m not going to lie to you. My first instinct was, I felt important. This- they’re talking about ME! I- this guy wrote my seminary textbook! So I walk back in kind-of excited, you know?
And I walked in. And I’m- I thought- I thought, ‘Did they just say my name?’ And the interviewer goes, ‘Steven Furtick’. And man! What happened next… I wish I hadn’t walked back in the room.
The theologian, he kinda like slumps his shoulders [slumps shoulders] and drops his head, [exaggeratedly drops his head], and he sighs, [sighs], as if to release the toxins at the mere consideration of my name.
‘Steven Furtick.’
And the theologian’s response and summarises my entire ministry with one word. And after he sighed and slumped his shoulders, he said [puts on voice]:
“UNQUALIFIED.”
Audience:
“Now there would have been a time, before I was a mature Christian, where I would have thought of some words in response that would have made ‘unqualified’ sound like a valentines day card. Come on, somebody!
And I wouldn’t even need four syllables- talk to me!
But instead, something in me- I was surprised, because I’m a fighter- and I don’t know if I was just in a good mood. I don’t know if I was too distracted to care- but something in me started laughing!
I started laughing at YouTube! I rewound it. I watched it again. I sent it over to some friends. I said HAHAHA! And something in me thought, ‘If you only knew!’
Something in me – it was weird. It was a shift cos normally I would have thought like, ‘I gotta defend myself. You don’t even know me. I haven’t ever met him. Who is he to say that to me?’.
But something in me was just like, ‘Own it! That’s how you felt your whole life anyway! He just did you a favor! He just released you from feeling the need to prove yourself. Now you can preach. And besides, you need to send that man a thank-you card because he just gave you the title for your next book’.
I wrote a little new book!
And I sent him a signed copy with a skinny red tie,
‘Thank you for the reminder. And now that we’ve got that out of the way, let’s preach. Yeah – I don’t have what it takes. Yeah, I feel like I am less than. Yeah there is people with more wisdom than me. Yeah, I might have some glitches. Yeah, I might have some flaws. But God called me. I’m so grateful nobody gave me my credentials. If you didn’t give them, you can’t strip ’em!’ [Crowd rallies and cheers him on]
I’ve come all the way from North Carolina with an invitation. And the invitation goes like this: “JOIN THE CLUB: ‘CLUB UNQUALIFIED’.”
I’m going to try this side: JOIN THE CLUB: CLUB UNQUALIFIED! Let me see what’s up on the floor: JOIN THE CLUB: CLUB UNQUALIFIED! Let me holler at the back: JOIN THE CLUB: CLUB UNQUALIFIED! I’m going to try this section one more time. But don’t you dare to shout and start clapping after my use of your illustration is through: JOIN THE CLUB: CLUB UNQUALIFIED!
And you know what? I realise that being unqualified- I’m not talking about disqualified. I’m not talking about living a hypocritical life. I’m not talking about having standards. I’m not talking about trying to be more like Christ. I’m not talking about not making progress. I’m not saying any of that. I’m not saying any of that.
I’m just saying that, if you feel unqualified, it puts you in some pretty good company.”
