The Mysti-Chicks Uprising: Why the MCU is a threat to Christianity

WHAT IS THE MYSTI-CHICKS UPRISING?

Ps. Chris Rosebrough identified a few key women as the Mysti-Chicks, but what he was addressing is, in reality, an uprising within the modern day Church. Here is Chris Rosebrough to explain the Mysti-Chicks:

This is why we have specifically labeled this feminist movement as the Mysti-Chicks Uprising. It is rallying women to rise up and embrace an unbiblical form of church governance and non-Christian practices.

The MCU preach a false gospel teaching that Jesus came to empower and liberate women in order to make a difference in the world.

These are just SOME women who were and are responsible for usurping this biblical authority and causing divisions in churches around the world.

HOW IS THE MCU DESTROYING CHURCHES?

For 2000 years Christianity has stood on the scriptures to contend earnestly for the faith, once and for all delivered to the saints (Jude 1). When the church forgot about the authority of the scriptures, the church increasingly took on pagan practices and created alternative man-made authorities and structures.

Hence the Great Reformation.

Through Martin Luther and many that followed after him, what was restored to the church were these five essential tenants to the Christian faith.

  1. Sola Fide – by faith alone
  2. Sola Scriptura – by Scripture alone.
  3. Solus Christus – through Christ alone.
  4. Sola Gratia – grace alone.
  5. Soli Deo Gloria – glory to God alone.

Sadly, through the rise of the Charismatic/New Apostolic Reformation (NAR) cult in the twentieth century, self-appointed Apostles and Prophets also promoted the idea that women can be Apostles. One way they mainstreamed this idea was by challenging the definition of ‘ministry’. They allowed men and women to have intercessory ministries, workplace ministries, prophetic ministries, prayer ministries and children’s ministry, etc.

78cwcportrait_Wendy_Alec

Women became Apostles in the NAR based on their success. False Apostles and Prophets then were able to claim women were called by God into apostolic and prophetic ministry because they had the numbers and success to prove this (see Wendy Alec of GODTV). If it wasn’t done through this manner, it was done through the NARismatic TV ministries such as TBN, GODTV and DayStar ministries where woman were given the platform to ‘minister’ to men and women on TV from their homes. Essentially they challenged the notion of God’s Word on the issues of men teaching and preaching to edify and equip the church and usurped their authority.

So what were the NAR attacking with the rise of these Apostolic/Prophetic women?

Sola Scriptura

Essentially – these women hate the word of God.
They make it very plain they do not submit to that scriptural authority and promote churches to rebel against it.

These are scriptures they reject:

[In accordance to the fall] “To the woman [God] said, “I will greatly multiply Your pain in childbirth, In pain you will bring forth children; Yet your desire will be for your husband, And he will rule over you.“” Genesis 3:16 (Emphasis added)

“As in all the churches of the saints, the women should keep silent in the churches. For they are not permitted to speak, but should be in submission, as the Law also says. If there is anything they desire to learn, let them ask their husbands at home. For it is shameful for a woman to speak in church.

Or was it from you that the word of God came? Or are you the only ones it has reached? If anyone thinks that he is a prophet, or spiritual, he should acknowledge that the things I am writing to you are a command of the Lord. If anyone does not recognize this, he is not recognized.1 Corinthians 14:33-38 (Emphasis added)

“Let a woman learn quietly with all submissiveness. I do not permit a woman to teach or to exercise authority over a man; rather, she is to remain quiet. For Adam was formed first, then Eve; and Adam was not deceived, but the woman was deceived and became a transgressor.” 1 Timothy 2:11-14 (Emphasis added)

“In this way they can train the young women to love their husbands and children, to be self-controlled, pure, managers of their households, kind, and subject to their own husbands, so that the word of God will not be discredited.” Titus 2:4-5

Just like any cult, the MCU have crafted plausible sounding arguments using certain scriptures to justify their rebellion, which have been refuted. Other MCU leaders like Katherine Ruonala simply claim they are teachers and prophets because God the Holy Spirit spoke to them directly and called them into such offices.

Katherine Ruonala

The reason why women are called to submit like this within the church gathering is that men also must submit to their wives and be willing to give up their lives for them, the way Christ gave His life up for the church (Ephesians 5). This doctrine of submission between man and woman, husband and wife is known as complementarianism – a doctrine the church has held to for nearly two thousand years. The complementarian position is seen to uphold what has been the most traditional teaching on gender roles in the church. (You can even read on some of the early church father’s views on this topic here.)

AN EXAMPLE OF THE MYSTI-CHICKS UPRISING

One popular Mysti-Chicks Uprising prophet, Lisa Bevere, recently spoke on the Charisma Podcast Network. She talked about how she fell asleep at her laptop and when she awoke, God the Holy Spirit spoke to her about God’s love. She claimed that through the Holy Spirit she wrote her latest book ‘Without Rival’. With her prophetic office established (because the Holy Spirit spoke to her), the presenter proceeded to ask Lisa Bevere about her thoughts on women in the church.
80cwcportrait_lisa_bevere

Lisa stated,

“When the church tells the daughters that they can find their value anywhere and everywhere except for in the house of God, then there is a problem. Somehow, I don’t know how this translates, but somehow men have really almost embraced a- it’s hard to say this- we’re kept almost like a Muslim Christianity where women have value everywhere except the house of God. They’re like kind of redeemed but not fully redeemed. Adam is fully redeemed. Eve is partially redeemed. And so what you see is a gender competition going on. You hear comments from major, MAJOR, church planting leaders say things like, ‘Women are gullible, they’re unfit, they’re easily deceived, they take the words of Paul and distort their application.'”

By Lisa’s admission she is a false prophet. This is because she acknowledged that Christian leaders do claim that women who want to find Lisa’s unbiblical feminist values “take the words of Paul and distort their application”. This is because Lisa is ignoring Paul’s clear instruction about her role in the church. While Lisa Bevere takes on the office of ‘Prophet’ in the above CPN broadcast, she is refusing to “acknowledge that the things [Paul is] writing to [her] are a command of the Lord”. Notice the strong rebuke the Apostle Paul makes against false prophets like Lisa Bevere:

“Or was it from you that the word of God came? Or are you the only ones it has reached? If anyone thinks that he is a prophet, or spiritual, he should acknowledge that the things I am writing to you are a command of the Lord. If anyone does not recognize this, he is not recognized.

In other words, Lisa Bevere is to be rejected by the church for her blatant disregard of God’s Word as a self-appointed prophet. This kind of hatred towards God, his teaching and His Church are very common within the MCU.

THE FRUIT OF THE MCU: REBELLION AND WITCHCRAFT

One of the MCU leaders is Beth Moore. She wrote an article titled ‘It’s Hunting Season for Heretics‘, where she took offense to a young woman who called her a “false teacher”. However, in her article, Moore accused Christians of going on “a witch hunt. Only, instead of witches, it’s heretics and false teachers.”

The concept that women like Beth Moore, Joyce Meyer or Bobbie Houston are witches is laughable. However, now that Beth Moore put that concept out there, we started researching what the bible teaches on witchcraft. We were shocked to discover the fruit of the Mysti-Chicks Uprising is exactly that: witchcraft.

Heed the words of the prophet Samuel to the rebellious King Saul:

“For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry. Because thou hast rejected the word of the LORD, he hath also rejected thee from being king.” 1 Samuel 15:23 (Emphasis ours)

Likewise, the Mysti-Chicks Uprising have “rejected the word of the LORD” and usurped (just like the Pharisees), the rightful authorities within the church. Just as King Saul’s rebellion led him to seek out the Witch/Medium of Endor, requesting that she summon the dead to counsel him (1 Samuel 28), so too are women like Beth Moore embracing witch-craft in the name of Jesus to usurp biblical authority for their own selfish gains. Here is God describing these occult practices:

“There shall not be found among you anyone who burns his son or his daughter as an offering, anyone who practices divination or tells fortunes or interprets omens, or a sorcerer or a charmer or a medium or a necromancer or one who inquires of the dead, for whoever does these things is an abomination to the LORD. And because of these abominations the LORD your God is driving them out before you. You shall be blameless before the LORD your God, for these nations, which you are about to dispossess, listen to fortune-tellers and to diviners. But as for you, the LORD your God has not allowed you to do this.” Deuteronomy 18:10-14

Take note that false prophets in Israel used the ‘miraculous’ to mislead Israel to embrace the practices of paganism:

“If a prophet or a dreamer of dreams arises among you and gives you a sign or a wonder, and the sign or wonder that he tells you comes to pass, and if he says, ‘Let us go after other gods,’ which you have not known, ‘and let us serve them,’ you shall not listen to the words of that prophet or that dreamer of dreams. For the LORD your God is testing you, to know whether you love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul. You shall walk after the LORD your God and fear him and keep his commandments and obey his voice, and you shall serve him and hold fast to him. But that prophet or that dreamer of dreams shall be put to death, because he has taught rebellion against the LORD your God…” Deuteronomy 13:1-5

Likewise, women such as Beth Moore, Priscilla Shirer, Bobbie Houston and Joyce Meyer within the MCU, are “prophesying and dreaming dreams” to mislead women AWAY from Christianity and embracing the worldly notions of humanistic philosophies and feminist notions. God is using these women – “to know whether you love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul.” However, the above scripture links again rebellion with the pursuit of other pagan deities and practices.

The MCU’s idea of empowering and equipping women is actually:

  1. promoting elitism,
  2. dividing churches,
  3. rejecting the Word of God,
  4. encouraging women to “to play the harlot after” secular idealisms (humanism, feminism) and thus
  5. promoting rebellion and witchcraft.

Yes, the Mysti-Chicks Uprising encourages witchcraft. This is because the bible states witchcraft includes fortune-telling and divining. Fortune-telling is also known as clairvoyance. And ‘divining’ requires someone who has supernatural or magical insight into future events. Bible translations often translate the word ‘witch’ with ‘medium’, suggesting that the two are synonymous (1 Samuel 28). Interestingly enough, people in the secular today identify as:

  1. psychic mediums
  2. spiritual mediums and
  3. intuitive mediums

A medium tunes into their psychic/spiritual/intuitive faculty to see into the lives of their hearers, (whether it be past, present or future). Probably the most popular form of mediation in the MCU is spiritual mediation. Spiritual mediation engages in ‘channeling’ the spirit, demon or primitive force through the person to communicate a message to their hearers. Channeling is a form of communication with various spiritual or energetic entities or forces in a spiritual world. Yet we see many of the leaders in the MCU rely on such occultic practices to convince their gullible audiences that they are hearing from God the Holy Spirit. Even Beth Moore confessed to tapping into this method from hearing God in an email:

“I have at times been so heavily impressed by Him on my heart that I had a very strong sense of what He was intending to get across to me. In sharing it, I used regular language – words – as people often do, to express those strong impressions that came with the pressing of the Holy Spirit.” [Source]

In other words, Beth Moore was acting as an intuitive medium, although she relied on intuitive senses to channel a message supposedly from the “Holy Spirit”. Amanda Wells is more of a psychic medium, relying on cold readings to give the impression she is hearing from God. Kat Kerr, Heidi Baker, Stacey Campbell to name a few are more of spiritual mediums, presenting themselves as channeling the Holy Spirit.

WARNING: The following videos may disturb some viewers.

[Start at 00:32 seconds in for Kat Kerr video.]

If you are still not convinced that this form of rebellion is linked to witchcraft, here is Patricia King promoting the pagan worship that taps into trance-like experiences known as Ekstasis Worship:

Copying the world: calling pagan worship Christian worship (Part 1)

Notice what they have in common. They are making Christianity all about you – not Jesus. However Jesus states,

You search the Scriptures because you think that in them you have eternal life; and it is they that bear witness about me, yet you refuse to come to me that you may have life.” John 5:39-40

This proves that they are false prophets, attracting people who hear what they want to hear. These prophets don’t care about the true Holy Spirit behind prophecy:

“Worship God! For the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.” Revelations 19:10

Note, all these MCU leaders have no problem claiming they hear from God the Holy Spirit. However, if they were hearing from the Holy Spirit, why isn’t the Holy Spirit doing His job of convicting these women of their sins and calling them to repentance? This is what Christ says the Holy Spirit came to do:

Nevertheless, I tell you the truth: it is to your advantage that I go away, for if I do not go away, the Helper will not come to you. But if I go, I will send him to you. And when he comes, he will convict the world concerning sin and righteousness and judgment: concerning sin, because they do not believe in me; concerning righteousness, because I go to the Father, and you will see me no longer; concerning judgment, because the ruler of this world is judged.” John 16:7-9 (Emphasis added)

CONCLUSION

If there is anything that we hope you begin to realize about the dangers of the MCU, it’s that they are rebelling against God, they are dividing churches and as a result, they are promoting a form of witchcraft in the name of Jesus Christ. Finally a good example of this rebellion and the damage it’s causing in churches, is this segment from Jordan Hall’s Polemics Report.

25CWCPortrait_Beth Moore

Jordan Hall read out an email he received from a pastor who was terrified of the women in his church who promote Beth Moore. Jordan Hall addressed the following:

“Here’s why I’m reading the email. Here’s why I am reading this. He says this- he says:

‘By the way, please don’t get thrown off by the Beth Moore simulcast website banner on our website. (JD Hall laughs) Ah! Alright! It’s painful to see. We elders have been wrestling with our own powerful women’s ministries for some time. When we challenge that leadership, they cry foul and start manipulating us. It’s been tough but it’s coming to a head. We do not believe Beth Moore is a bible teacher.’

Well she is a bible teacher. She’s just a really, really bad bible teacher. Ahh- and claims direct divine revelation. And here’s the thing, the PASTOR has a Beth Moore link on the church website – – – and he can’t do anything about it right this minute because they’ve been wrestling with, the quote, (he put it in quotes), ‘POWERFUL’ (notice the quotation marks), ‘POWERFUL women’s ministry’. Anybody else seeing a problem, or is it just me?

Well, the scripture says the student becomes like the teacher. Usurping authority in her rebellious authoritative teaching positions, teaching men and women authoritatively as though she were preaching (because that’s what it is).

Huh! And her followers won’t submit to the leadership and the pastor of the church. First of all, this is very common. This is not out of the ordinary. Most post pastors I know who are discerning are terrified of the women in their church when it comes to Beth Moore.”

  1. This HUGE problem goes to show how something that may seem a bit ‘harmless’ (as all those who constantly ask “why shouldnt women be allowed to teach? give 1 good reason!”), ANY ‘slight’ abandonment/straying from THE WORD OF GOD end up in MAJOR error.

Props should go to Churchwatch and Chris Rosebrough for doing your best trying to hold the Body of Christ as closely/strictly accountable to the Word of God as we can possibly be.

Instead of abandoning the Word of God for ‘experiences’ and ‘words from God’ like that long list of SPIRITUAL LOSERS above who defiantly REFUSE to stand with Jesus and His Word, while in their total rebellion.

  2. Is there one modern church denomination when women were formally accepted into church leadership e.g. female pastor, deacon that did NOT become openly liberal, gay affirming, Emergent Church, into mysticism and/or embraced Charismatic signs and wonders afterwards if they weren’t already (i.e. has KEPT to this day bible alone on every other matter?)

A female pastor bible-believing church is an oxymoron. I wouldn’t attend such a church now and I am a woman.

  3. Its about time someone stood up for the WORD without fear from these LOUD MOUTH heretical female reprobates!
