Would you call Satan,  Jesus? Would you call an unclean or familiar spirit, the Holy Spirit? Would you attribute the demonic to the teachings of the Holy Spirit? The average Christian should say ‘NO’. However, many Christians are being misled into believing that the works of Satan are the works of the Holy Spirit, and doctrines of demons are new revelations of the Holy Spirit. One such man (leading many astray) who is demonically inspired by demonic paganism and attributes the works of Satan to God, is New Apostolic Reformation (NAR) Apostle David Yonggi Cho.

The New Apostolic Reformation cult preach a false Jesus, false gospel and New Age metaphysical teachings and strategies in an attempt to bring heaven to earth.

According to our research, it appears Cho introduced, and mainstreamed to Christianity, the idea of Christians tapping into another dimension manifesting heaven on earth through dreams/visions/faith through the process of spiritual birthing/incubation. This is taught in his book ‘The Fourth Dimension’. However, we’ve already addressed that these teachings are nothing more than paganism wrapped up in Christian language. The pagan teachings of Yonggi Cho

In the above article, Cho claims that the Holy Spirit taught him about the secret laws of the fourth dimension, laws that Christianity has failed to grasp from the scriptures.

But that’s the problem.

Cho is claiming to hear a voice and attributing this voice to the Holy Spirit. When we test it,  this spirit is nothing more than a demon. This article will help clarify our readers as to why the spirit in Cho is not the Holy Spirit but a demonic one – and we will use his own own words to prove this to be true in this article.

CHO’S WORD GAMES & SPIRIT CLAIMS

Cho makes it clear that to question his teachings is to question God the Holy Spirit. Cho says:

“But the Holy Spirit said, “Wait a minute. Nothing in the Bible is superstition. The matter is that you don’t understand. You are blind, but I am applying the special law of creation here. You watch.”

Then a tremendous unveiling of truth came to me, and this added a new dimension to my ministry. If you do not use the miraculous laws of faith you cannot hope to see a thousand new members added to your church each month; your personal struggle apart from the work of the fourth dimension cannot bring this goal about.” pg. 37. (Emphasis added.)

Not even Jesus Christ received this new revelation that the Holy Spirit gave Cho. So why should we believe what Cho has to say is from God if the Holy Spirit failed to give this “tremendous unveiling of truth” to Jesus? And notice – Cho is claiming that these new “faith” revelations are the REASON why a “thousand new members are added to [his] church each month”.

Holy spirit forgot to tell Jesus about fourth dimension teaching to disciples. That’s why Holy Spirit sent me to teach you this “tremendous unveiling of truth.”

In other words, Cho is saying your Christian life will fail unless you believe what his “Holy Spirit” divinely revealed to him about faith. But the Holy Spirit inspired the writer of Hebrews to pen these words about the Christian faith:

“Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.” Hebrews 11:1

The majority of the bible translations will say something to that effect. However, Cho has made it clear that in his book ‘The Fourth Dimension’, that the Holy Spirit gave him new revelation about the spiritual world and how, for the last 200o years, Christianity has gotten it wrong.

Cho opens his book  and teaches how we are to understand the laws of faith, how we should be translating Hebrews 11:1:

“The Bible says that faith is the substance of things hoped for, a substance which first has a stage of development- of incubation- before its usage can be full and effective.” pg. 1 (Emphasis added.)

Incubation plays a major role in the teaching the so-called “Holy Spirit” gave to Yonggi Cho in regards to operating in the ‘fourth dimension’. Cho also translates Hebrews 11:1 this way:

“Envision a Clear-cut objective
First, to use your faith you must be able to envision a clear-cut objective. Faith is the substance of things, clear-cut things, hoped for. If you have only a vague idea about your goal, then you are out of touch with the One who could answer your prayer. You must have a clear and defined faith goal. I learned this lesson in a very peculiar situation.” pg. 2 (Emphasis added)

This is what we are hoping to stress at this current point – David Yonggi Cho is trying to convince his audience that his translation of “faith” of Hebrews 11:1 is the most accurate because of his direct dialogue with God the Holy Spirit. He wants you to believe that his god wants you to understand the new laws of faith are the substance of:

a “clear-cut thing, hoped for”

and

“a substance which first has a stage of development- of incubation- before its usage can be full and effective”.

What you are about to discover is that this is NOT the Holy Spirit – but a demon speaking to Yonggi Cho.

THE SOKA GAKKAI

Throughout his book ‘The Fourth Dimension’, David Yonggi Cho keeps bringing up the fact that other religions move in the miraculous, specifically a modern Japanese Buddhist religious movement called the Soka Gakkai. He appears to specifically have an issue with the Soka Gakkai.

“When attending meetings of the Japanese Soka gakkai, many are healed-some of stomach ulcers, the deaf and dumb hearing and speaking, and the blind seeing. So naturally we Christians… have real difficulty in explaining these occurrences. You cannot put these things away as a manifestation of the devil.” pg. 25-26.

So if it’s not the devil, what is it? When Yonggi Cho asked God how these religions manifest the miraculous, along came a spirit (which Cho called  ‘Holy Spirit’) and convinced him that this miraculous power is not of Satan. This pagan power comes from the Fourth Dimension. And apparently the ‘Holy Spirit’ does not like the Soka Gakkai either.

“Then the Holy Spirit spoke to me, “Look at the Soka gakkai. They belong to Satan; the human spirit joins up with the spirit of the evil fourth dimension, and with the evil fourth dimension they carry out dominion over their bodies and circumstances.” The Holy Spirit showed me that it was in this manner that the magicians in Egypt carried out dominion over various occurrences, just as Moses did.” pg. 28-29. (Emphasis added.)

By Cho’s own words, he claims the Soka Gakkai belong to Satan and links their practice to the witchcraft of the magicians in Egypt in Exodus. However, Cho does NOT attribute this healing power to Satan – he attributes Soka Gakkai using their faith by tapping into the healing power of the Fourth Dimension.

But this book is all about the Holy Spirit giving Cho NEW REVELATION to teach Christians how to use their “clear-cut” faith by tapping into the fourth dimension. He even claims that the Spirit says that the Soka Gakkai link their spirit to the fourth dimension to “carry out dominion over their bodies and circumstances.”

But this is the same book where Cho teaches Christians to also link their spirit to the fourth dimension “to carry out dominion over their bodies and circumstances” through their incubation process through the resources of their hearts.

“Miracles come not by blindly struggling. There are laws in the spiritual realm, and you have endless resources in your heart.” pg. 20

Now the question needs to be asked – what is the difference between what the Soka Gakkai teach and practice and what Cho is teaching and practicing through the teachings of this so-called “Holy Spirit”?

This is what Yonggi Cho claims the Holy Spirit said to him:

“So men, by exploring their spiritual sphere of the fourth dimension through the development of concentrated visions and dreams in their imaginations, can brood over and incubate the third dimension, influencing and changing it. This is what the Holy Spirit taught me.
So naturally these yoga people and Buddhist believers could explore and develop their human fourth dimension, their spiritual sphere; with clear-cut visions and mental pictures of health they could incubate over their bodies.” pg. 28 (Emphasis added.)

Now do you see the dilemma? What is the difference between the Christian faith and this pagan faith?

Holy Spirit to Cho: “Look at the Sokagakkai. They belong to Satan…”

Right now this “Holy Spirit” has introduced new concepts to redefine Hebrews 11:1 to mean that the Christian faith operates from “clear-cut things” visions/dreams and has a “stage of development -incubation.” This is the same “Holy Spirit” who claimed the Soka Gakkaia “belong to Satan.” But the Soka Gakkai appear to be the ones that are applying this Fourth Dimension teaching of the “Holy Spirit”.

So what is going on here?

Cho explains:

“Non-Christians from all over the world are involved in transcendental meditation and Buddhistic meditation. In meditation on is asked to have a clear-cut goal and vision. In Sogagakkai [sic] they draw a picture of prosperity, repeating phrases over and over, trying to develop the human spiritual fourth dimension; and these people are creating something. While Christianity has been in Japan for more than 100 years, with only 0.5 percent of the population claiming to be Christians, Sokagakkai [sic] has millions of followers. Sokagakkai has applied the law of the fourth dimension and has performed miracles; but in Christianity there is only talk about theology and faith.” pg. 48-49. (Emphasis added.)

So clearly Cho has a problem with the great commission where Jesus instructs us to go into all the world and “make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you” (Matt 28:18-20). Rather Cho wants us to go all into the Fourth Dimension and do what he practices.

Cho claims the Soka Gakkai have done a better job tapping into the law of the fourth dimension to perform miracles because they:

1. “asked to have a clear-cut goal and vision”
2. “draw a picture of prosperity” and
3. repeat “phrases over and over” and as a result
4. “create something”

Oddly enough, Cho’s entire book is attempting to convince Christians that God the Holy Spirit wants Christians to:

1. have a clear-cut vision,
2. have a picture of the thing we want (see pg. 42 “Think of that man! Draw a picture in your mind.”), and
3. to speak that which we want into existence to
4. create/birth something in the invisible dimension to the visible dimension.

His claim is that we can access the powers of this dimension on a far greater level then the Soka Gakkai because they “are involved in transcendental meditation and Buddhistic meditation”. Christians? We have the the cross of Jesus to “receive a new image, a new dream, and a new vision, by the power of the Holy Spirit, and be changed” (pg. 40).

So Cho has replaced transcendental meditation with the work of Christ and the Holy Spirit.

This isn’t Christianity. In fact, he has rejected Christianity and made the Soka Gakkai work by replacing Buddhistic meditation with the trinity. This means we don’t have a Christian pastor running the largest church in the world. Instead we have an enlightened Buddhist priest running the largest Soka Gakkai institution in the world… in the name of Jesus only. He is the enlightened Buddha of Christianity who has reached the pinnacle of the Fourth Dimension to manifest the desires of his heart. Now you can buy his book to learn how to transcend to his level spiritual enlightenment to unlock the prosperity in this life. You can take on the advice of the demons he worked with to get there.

Between Christianity and the Soka Gakkai, according to Cho, the Soka Gakkai have done a better job tapping into the law of the fourth dimension to perform miracles. They are the ones drawing pictures of prosperity and repeating phrases over and over. And oddly enough, those “handed over to Satan” are the same spirits Cho is teaching us to imitate, suggesting we can harness the powers of the fourth dimension (through their definition of faith) with greater results because we just add “God” to it. Now remember we recorded Cho stating,

“You cannot put these things [the miraculous] away as a manifestation of the devil.“

He doesn’t stop there though. Look at Cho’s thoughts about the devil:

“But if the devil could do these things, why should not the Church of Jesus Christ do all the more?”

The question needs to be asked: Why is Cho turning Christianity into a miracle-working competition against the Soka Gakkai? Essentially, Cho has invented his own Super-Soka Gakkai and he believes this demon is the Holy Spirit.

And from Cho’s new revelation, who is at fault here?

The Christian.

“but in Christianity there is only talk about theology and faith”

That’s his enemy – Christianity. If Yonggi Cho wants to embrace the teachings of this spirit, he needs to step out of the pastoral office and join the Soka Gakkai religion.

What is interesting about this Buddhist practice is its emphasis on a humanistic faith that incites human revolution and societal transformation (“Faith in Revolution: An Interview with Daisaku Ikeda”). Also from a prominent Soka Gakkai website:

“The essence of the Soka Gakkai’s practice of Buddhist humanism under Ikeda’s leadership has been the promotion of the process of fundamental transformation–human revolution–in each individual, with the confidence that this has the power to change society in meaningful and positive ways.” [Source]

So in other words, it’s about empowering individuals to embrace fundamental transformation to bring a human revolution to change society. However, the New Apostolic Reformation teach that its leaders are called to empower/equip the body of Christ to embrace fundamental transformation to bring a human revolution to change the culture. They promote Christians to be “change agents” in society. You would have thought the Soka Gakkai had taken this concept from the New Apostolic Reformation. What’s the difference?

It’s also interesting to note that the Soka Gakkai established the Soka Gakkai International (SGI) in January 1975:

“On January 26, 1975, representatives from 51 countries and territories gathered on the island of Guam, where they created an umbrella organization for the growing membership of Nichiren Buddhists around the world. This became the Soka Gakkai International (SGI), with Daisaku Ikeda as its first president.” [Source]

Only a year later, Yonggi Cho launched his Church Growth International (CGI) on the 4th of November:

“1976 – Since the establishment of Church Growth International on November 4th, about 6.8 million members from abut 50 nations have participated in conferences and seminars for the purpose of discussing and praying for church growth. Currently, periodicals written in English are provided for distribution in approximately 150 nations.” [Source]

Note: The CGI’s directors are Apostles, which are representatives of countries, regions, social spheres or territories around the world.

CONCLUSION

By failing to test the spirits, Cho is calling a demonic spirit the Holy Spirit. By listening to the voice of the demonic, Cho condemns himself as a blasphemer not only in word but also in practice.

By claiming the Holy Spirit gave him tremendous new truth in regards to the Christian faith, he has made Jesus less important than himself.

By redefining faith, he has turned Christianity into paganism and paganism into Christianity.

The Soka Gakkai promote a humanistic faith which is all about changing the world through their movement. They do not rely on God to grow their movement. Yonggi Cho’s faith is no different. Rather than believe Jesus’ words about growing His church, Cho thinks it’s all about his humanistic faith to grow a church inside himself.  The power of David Yonggi Cho and the Soka Gakkai is within themselves – not in God:

“God wants to manifest Himself through you today, just as He manifested Himself through Christ 2,000 years ago. He is just as powerful as He was before, and He is depending upon you. I claim that I could build a church which has more than 10,000 members very easily in the States, as well as in Germany or in Tokyo, for the vision for a church is not built in the external world, but inside a man or woman.” pg. 20

The demonic spirit abiding in Yonggi Cho will boast about doing things only God says He can do. He is boasting he is growing the church – not Christ. And it is a demonic spirit who has made David Yonggi Cho the foundation of Yoido Full Gospel Church and not Jesus. Jesus is not getting the glory. This demon is pointing people to Yonggi Cho and his new revelations (which only reflect the pagan religions in his culture). Only the demonic would inspire people to attribute that which is evil and perverted to God and His Word. It’s mockery, blasphemy and vanity all under the guise of Christianity.

Because Cho connects these demonic influences to the success of his ministry, this should make people ignore his prophecies and avoid having him lay hands on them.
