Why Wagner WAS the Leader of the NAR (Part 2): what Wagner’s death signified

WAGNER’S LIE: “THE NAR…..HAS NO LEADER.”

The above quote from C. Peter Wagner was in an article he wrote titled ‘The New Apostolic Reformation Is Not a Cult‘. His attempt to distance himself as being the head of the New Apostolic Reformation (NAR) needs to be noted.

“The NAR is not an organization. No one can join or carry a card. It has no leader.
I have been called the “founder,” but this is not the case.

This is a half truth, which means Wagner is lying. The truth is that he became the leader of the NAR because of what he observed developing over time through the New Order of the Latter Rain (NOLR) movement’s Charismatic Renewal Movement (CRM). He observed, and documented, the rise of this apostolic phenomena and even named it. His research and defense of Charismatic Apostles and Prophets eventually led him to rise up as its leader.

In our first article, we proved that his leadership over the NAR was fully established in 2008 when we examined his excuse over Lakeland and visually laid out how the Apostolic authorities that be, submitted to his authority and his supposed divine assignments.

Why Wagner WAS the Leader of the NAR (Part 1): Examining the Lakeland Apostolic Alignment Ceremony.

In this article we will look at Che Ahn’s HIM ministry video tribute to C Peter Wagner and examine it’s implications.

LOOKING AT THE C. PETER WAGNER’S APOSTOLIC VACUUM

Che Ahn is the Apostle and founder of Harvest International Ministries (HIM). This year, a special tribute video was released of C Peter Wagner by the HIM Korea YouTube Channel. This was the channel that uploaded many sermons and sessions by ‘world renowned’ NARpostles such as Heidi Baker and Bill Johnson who attended this year’s HIM Korea Conference.

C Peter Wagner claims that “whereas denominations are legal structures, the NAR is a relational structure.”

“The reason behind this is that, whereas denominations are legal structures, the NAR is a relational structure.
Everyone is related to, or aligned, with an apostle or apostles.” [Source]

If it is true that these Apostolic “relational structures” are what define the NAR, then if we look beyond NAR organizations and “ministries” of individuals and only look at these “relational structures,” there is a very strong and deliberate relational structure that puts Wagner as the top Apostolic leaders of the NAR (see Part 1 diagram).

This means there are others vying for the top New Apostolic Reformation positions. And this is where we see C Peter Wagner take on a Messianic-like figure in the New Apostolic Reformation. For instance, at Lakeland, Wagner was paralleling himself with Che Ahn, Bill Johnson and John Arnott Arnott to Jesus and the three pillars of Christ’s church, Peter, James and John.

In similar fashion, we see this attribute emerge in the tribute below. At eleven minutes in, the narrator stated,

“Even though Peter Wagner is now home with Jesus Christ, his teaching and devotion will not be forgotten, and carried by spiritual children like Che Ahn, Chuck Pierce and Cindy Jacobs.”

The tribute then had Che Ahn state that C Peter Wagner had, “Become [his] apostle.”

“My spiritual father. [EDIT] Chuck and I are two of his sons… You know he had many spiritual children but there were three that really were his key children: Cindy Jacobs, Chuck and myself.”

Later in the video, Chuck Pierce stated,

“Che was [Wagner’s] Korean son and loved him dearly. He was a wonderful student… He has carried on Peter’s legacy in teaching over the past six years… So this will be the seventh actually that Che has carried on WLI… When Peter turned the ministry over to me several years ago… I said, “I am not called to WLI… I’m called to assist [points to Che Ahn] … who should do WLI… Let’s thank God for Che Ahn and WLI.”
