Michael Brown fails to correct Jennifer LeClaire’s ‘Sneaky Squid Spirit’ eisegesis.

After Michael Brown had false prophet Jennifer LeClaire (of ‘Sneaky Squid Spirit’ fame) on his program, he followed with what appeared to be a ‘damage control episode’ on his radio show, “Line of Fire”.

However, this particular follow-up program significantly backfired on Brown when Jennifer LeClaire rang in and ultimately proved Dr Michael Brown to be as biblically illiterate as they come – for someone who claims to be a theologian. That’s because she twisted the bible in front of him on numerous occasions. What did Michael Brown do? Did he bring biblical correction in love?

Before we tackle this, we thought it worth your while looking at how he advertised this program episode on his website.

Oddly enough, the one who did the most damage to his reputation, was Jennifer LeClaire. Who needs critics when Jennifer LeClaire did such a fine job exposing the hypocrisy of Dr Brown?

In her segment on his program, this ‘self-appointed’ prophet twisted Matthew 5:11-12, Luke 4:4, John 20:30, Matthew 18:15-17, Acts 16:16 and Revelation 2:20.

In other words, the majority of scripture that LeClaire referenced, was twisted to justify her false ‘sneaky squid doctrine’, and she was allowed to get away with this without any correction from Dr Brown.

When Dr Brown finally got around to asking her about the ‘sneaky squid spirit’ his approach was very revealing. He gave her an escape route by suggesting perhaps what she saw was symbolic. This was her response:

“I see the sense of [the sneaky squid spirit] being symbolic.” 39:22

She later stated,

“But we sort of use symbols, you know we see that in scripture. So you know, sometimes in the deliverance ministry, in spiritual warfare ministry, we describe things by their function. And so when someone is feeling a squeezing pressure on their head and it’s a – it’s affecting their nervous system, you know, you, uh, pi- uh, it could be, differe – we call it different thi – I know people who are not Charismatic wont understand this. But you know, things like the python spirit. We get that from a woman of divination from the book of Acts…” [40:02]

We ask the question – did Michael Brown bother to research or read LeClaire’s article on “the sneaky squid spirit”?

I do not research everything that every guest says or believes before I interview them otherwise, yes, I’d have one guest per decade.” [Source]

But if he had, surely he wouldn’t have allowed her to continue with her outrageous statements. On his program, Jennifer said that she sensed the sneaky squid spirit as being symbolic.

However, her article on the sneaky squid spirit tells us she believes it’s an actual spirit. In fact, she states,

“In his classic book, Demon Hit List, Eckhardt lists mind control and defines it this way: Octopus and squid spirits having tentacles; confusion, mental pressure, mental pain, migraine.” Sounds a lot like witchcraft, and I imagine that’s what it actually is.” [Source]

In Eckhardt’s book ‘Demon Hit List’ he states, “Since identifying and uncovering demons by name is so important in deliverance, the idea to write a deliverance thesaurus is well overdue” (pg. 8). He has identified and uncovered the following “demons.”

“MIND CONTROL
Octopus and squid spirits having tentacles; confusion, mental pressure, mental pain, migraine. Ask the Lord to sever the tentacles of mind control.” [Source, pg. 49]

“SQUID Mind-control spirits with tentacles, causing confusion, mind binding, mind racing, mental pain, migraine, and mental torment.” [Source, pg. 75-6]

So according to Eckhardt, there is such thing as a squid spirit. And LeClaire not only quotes from him on page 49, she confirms that she saw this spirit, cast out this spirit, was stalked by this spirit and attacked by this spirit. LeClaire goes so far as to describe the spititual anatomy of this squid spirit in how it sneaks up on you through squid camouflage…

“Squids also have a chameleon persona… Spiritually speaking, this chameleon-like characteristic means it can change its behavior or appearance to stay hidden. It’s sneaky! Squids are fast swimmers and some of them can even fly. Again, that’s why you need discernment in any spiritual battle.” [Source]

… and how it physically operates in the spiritual world:

“Like an octopus, the squid has tentacles. Tentacles are essentially what science calls a muscular hydrostat, which works sort of like a tongue. Muscular hydrostats manipulate—catch that word—things around it. People manipulate your mind with their tongues. Squids manipulate your mind with their sucker-laced tentacles.” [Source]

She even describes how this squid spirit attacks, where it attacks (our mind) and how it constricts its victims:

“We can’t overcome a squid attack in our flesh. The more we struggle in our flesh, the greater the hold this spirit seems to get on us. The more we get in our heads trying to figure things out, the more ground the squid takes because the squid is attacking our head (our mind).” [Source]

Another revealing comment about this, is what she says here:

“The good news here is a squid’s tentacles do not grow back once severed. If you get discernment that a squid spirit is attacking you, repent for any known open doors, grab some intercessors, and get that sneaky stalker with its manipulating suckers off your mind! Sever the tentacles, in the name of Jesus, and walk free.”

Nothing indicates that what she wrote about the sneaky squid spirit sounds remotely ‘symbolic’. In fact, LeClaire instructs us to, “Sever the tentacles, in the name of Jesus,” because just like a real squid, “The good news here is a squid’s tentacles do not grow back once severed.”

Jennifer LeClaire can’t escape the fact that she lied to Michael Brown about what she saw, and wrote about,  the ‘sneaky squid spirit’ being an actual spirit. It was never written as being a symbolic picture of a demon. Even John Eckhardt confirms this.

This program provided the discerning listener with ample evidence that both Jennifer LeClaire and Dr Michael Brown bring nothing to serve the body of Christ faithfully, by allowing such nonsense to be published in “Charisma Magazine” and on aired on “Line Of Fire”.
