The Watchmen Hall of Fame has been created to commemorate the great Christian men who have been a faithful voice for the Christian Church over the last century. These are people that need to be highly respected and honoured for their hard work “fighting for the faith” or standing and contending “earnestly that was once and for all delivered to the saints.”
We will be adding more to this list as time goes by. In the mean time, we hope you appreciate and learn from these faithful Church Watchers. We believe each of these individuals are serving Christ and His Church all around the globe by exposing the works of false teachings, false gospels and the false ministries (cults) of false men while at the same time, calling sinners to repent of their sin and turning them to Jesus.
Take note that these Church Watchers come from a range of churches such as Baptists, Lutherans, Pentecostals, Presbyterian, Reformed, Anglican, etc. They do not deviate from the Christian faith. They hold to their doctrinal denominational distinctives. They do not accidentally preach heresy. These are properly trained, qualified Church Watchers. They preach the Word of God faithfully in season and out of season and are totally opposite to those we expose here on CWC.

A small portion of my studies involved his teachings, but my own labors in Christ were certainly quite influenced by him. And O at the late hour how the Church misses his clear voice.

“I have been asked a number of times about Dr. Martin’s stand regarding apostate Roman Catholicism, which is exactly what Martin’s view was as you’ll clearly see below. Delivered as I was from the religious bondage of the Roman Catholic Church into the glorious liberty of the sons of God, and because the Lord was pleased to have me be a columnist at Walter Martin Religious InfoNet, it seems good in the Spirit to publish Martin’s own words concerning the core issues of the Church of Rome.
The [Roman Catholic] Church has adapted to the necessity of survival, as she always has. But she has never changed [her] positions. Now; as Christians, what ought our attitude to be [concerning Roman Catholicism]? Well if he is – and if the Master washed the feet of his disciples – then we should expect the same kind of example from the history of the papacy. We have not received that example. We have received flowing robes, large churches built on the backs of people. We have seen the terrible disparity between the profession of Christianity and the practice of it. Simply visit the countries where Rome rules, and you will see it for yourself…
The American Catholic is a different breed of cats from the Irish Catholic, the Spanish Catholic, the Italian Catholic. Different; because there you find the theology I’m talking about – now – today [the 80’s.] Just as much as alive as when Boniface the VIII and…the popes of yesteryear wrote it, and said it had to be believed.
You must understand what you are seeing in this country is not pure Roman Catholic theology. What you are seeing in this country is a watered down version adapted to the American mind, so that the Americans will live with it. Rome is a great chameleon, she changes color on what ever surface you place her. Here in this country she cannot do the things she does in Spain, and Italy and survive, and so she is different. The face is different, but underneath, the theology remains unchanged. The statement “we never change” – is true. They never change on the basics. They will change on the peripherals, [but] never on the centrality, the authority of the papacy.
I’m quoting these things so that you get some idea of the concept in which the average Roman Catholic grows, and matures in the educational process of the church. It is a closed system, absolute thought control enforced by fear. If you do not, then you will not inherit…
Let us not think that Rome has changed her basic positions, she has not. Her catechisms are essentially the same. Her dogmas uncompromising. It is the same Roman Catholic Church as at the Council of Trent, only carefully adapted to American Protestant culture. It is a Roman Catholic Church, which today, which threatens Protestantism in various parts of the world, whenever she gains the upper hand.”

Hello! I recently came across your website and can’t tell you how thankful I am for your efforts to create a site where all the information to alert the public about these false teachers in accumulated in one place. In December, I began doing research on many of the people you address after my relatives excitedly approached me about a new guy they had found. They encouraged me to watch Jonathan Welton and his end time videos as well as read his Raptureless book. I quickly found that Welton is a preterist who is twisting Scripture to support his false teachings. And the more I researched, the more I found out about Bethel and their New Age teachings, the NAR, and the many names associated with this “church.” Wagner, Johnson, Joyner, Bentley, Baker, and the list goes on. I’ve done countless hours of research and it seems I discover a new name connected to Bethel almost daily. And what I’ve found about Bethel itself is frightening. Kundlini spirits, fire tunnels, SoZo healing? Really? I can’t help but scratch my head and wonder what my relatives and others see in this movement. And I can’t help but be greatly concerned for them. They’ve talked about Bethel and healing ministry for years but I had no leading to research them (neither was I attracted to them). I can’t believe what I’ve found.
Anyway, I have not had a chance to read through your entire website; there is so much to read! And, although you seem quite busy and certainly have your hands full at sounding the alarm of all these heretics. I would encourage you to write about Jonathan Welton if you have not yet done so. Holly Privec points out on her website that Welton encourages the practice of reading auras, clairvoyance, and using New Age objects such as crystals, etc. in his book “Normal Christianity.” I read the first chapter of his Raptureless book and found several errors that I noted in a review on Amazon. And just this morning, he put up a new post on his blog about the 5 Spiritual Realms in which he suggests that moving up the spiritual realm (i.e. becoming more enlightened?) occurs when you begin to hunger for the teachings on the supernatural from people such as Patricia King, Sid Roth, and Bethel. Ridiculous. I guess the rest of us are hopeless. (On a side note, last week I commented on Welton’s post titled Leaders and Losers and essentially called out what I believe were errors in his teaching. He has since taken down his comments; apparently, he doesn’t like dissenting views).
I do have one question for you. What are the religious affiliation of your Berean Advisory Board? I am not familiar with all the names, but I do recognize some of them as being Calvinist. Are they all? While I am not a Calvinist myself, I do lean somewhat that way. And I really like Justin Peters and am surprised that he is not included as part of your advisers.
Again, thank you for your efforts and I encourage you to keep pressing on and equipping followers of the true Christ of the God who does not change.

Matt Slick has not made the list due to his “Charismatic leanings”. Although his apologetic work is commended and although we consider him a valuable Christian brother, we believe he still needs to examine his own theology.
We say “Charismatic leanings” in relation to our research on the New Apostolic Reformation cults and their heresies. “Charismaticism” was born out of the condemned practices and teachings of the New Order of the Latter Rain in 1948. When this dangerous theology manifested in the visible church landscape, C. Peter Wagner named this movement the New Apostolic Reformation. Our research has shown again and again that “Charismatics” cannot separate themselves from NAR theology, which is why we are calling them NARismatics. Show us someone who is Charismatic and we’ll show you a very confused NARismatic who doesn’t know much about their own theological background.
Although Slick may speak out against people like Joyce Meyer or Benny Hinn who preach NAR theology, we believe he needs to consider if he is in fact himself a NARismatic. If confronted with a place (for instance Bethel), who aren’t so brazen with their statements but are clearly NAR in their theology and practices, it is our belief Slick would condone them because of his theology.
In saying all that, we believe he has been placed in his position of the body of Christ for the benefit of education many NARismatics, leading them to operate with a sound mind and an open bible. We cannot fault him there in his sincere efforts. He is a real blessing – but we sincerely hope he re-examines his theology in light of the dangerous theology of the NAR.
