This article is broken in to two sections, the first section is to allow readers to listen to Dawn Hill’s investigation into Alexander Pagani’s personal testimony in coming to know ‘Jesus’. The second half of this video allows viewers to examine the videos Dawn Hill references in her own video. Please note – all reference videos have been downloaded so that Pagani and the NAR networks he associates with cannot completely pull them.
The issue now with the following Dawn Hill video is this – who in Alexander Pagani’s ministry cares about the truth? Do they care about their ‘Apostle’ fabricating his testimony as to how he was saved? Or are they simply falling for the wolf in sheep’s clothing?
Dawn Hill premiered the following on YouTube:
Dawn Hill states:
“Numerous leaders within the NAR have laid claim to having personal encounters with Jesus Christ, and some of these leaders have correlated this to the personal calling as a modern-day Apostle. One individual in particular has stated in multiple interviews that he encountered Jesus while in prison, receiving salvation and an apostolic calling upon his life. However, questions arise as to the credibility of such claims and why new apostles are needed today when we are under apostolic teaching, which is the written Word of God.
Join me as we take an in-depth look at Alexander Pagani’s testimony, and we consider it in light of Scripture and the Apostles of Christ found in Scripture.”

Holy Culture published the following,
Interview: Preach Dat Fire
Preach Dat Fire
The Interviewer is interviewed… Peep it as Pastor Alex Pagani aka “Preach Dat Fire” sits down and speaks with Holyculture.net about his pastoral role and hosting the very popular internet radio show “HollaFest Radio”.
Shine: For the readers who may not be familiar with you, why don’t you give us a little of your background on how you got started.
Preach Dat Fire: Well to make a long story short, I got saved in prison while serving a 3-9 year prison term. I ended up doing 6 years out of the 9 and about a year and a half into my prison sentence I had a personal encounter with the Lord Jesus Christ in my cell. I had a literal open manifestation or encounter where He actually walked into my cell and I heard Him say the very words He said to Matthew. He said to me “Follow Me…” and I knew that it was Jesus Christ who was actually speaking to me. Prior to that I had some form of religious instruction because I was catholic at that time, but God had always brought true born again believers across my path especially during my prison term. The correctional officers were born again and they would evangelize to me during my stay there. So I knew that it was Christ who was speaking to me and right there in my prison cell I got on my knees and repented of my sins and I asked Christ to forgive me. From that moment on I completely began to just live for Christ and study my bible. Eventually I was released after 6 yrs later. I joined the church, got involved in ministry, finished bible school and ended up getting called to the pastorate and here I am 17 years later doing what I do. I’m giving you a synopsis of the long journey I’ve had up until now. (Laughs)
Shine: Your ministry is known for being “cutting edge”. What makes your ministry any different from other ministries/radio shows?
Preach Dat Fire: By default there are a couple of things that do make us unique and one is that our radio show is completely bilingual. There’s nobody really at this time in the genre that has a full bilingual Spanish and English Christian hip hop radio show. Second, what makes our radio show unique is that I’m a real ordained minister and senior pastor of a church. So my radio show is not guided from a member who is part of a local fellowship under a covering, but its actually coming from a pastor who is the covering of the members and the parishioners that the Lord has given me, who happens to be a genuine hip hop fan. I’m a genuine fan of the culture I don’t just use it as a tool to effectively reach the lost as some pastors do (and that’s great) but after the evangelistic endeavors I’m a genuine fan of the music, I listen to the music.
Shine: So do you think it’s more effective to be a “genuine fan” of CHH as oppose to just using it for evangelistic purposes?
Preach Dat Fire: I’ve seen the effectiveness in that (pauses) the community where our church is located is a predominately hip hop driven community. I think it give me a slight edged when it comes to reaching the inner-city lost because it’s not someone coming from the outside using a method and has no understanding of the culture yet uses it as a way to win people. And I’m not saying that it makes me any better or any less, I believe that every church should use them to where God has called them to its fullest potential. It’s going to be effective if there going to do whatever God has called them to do. But when it comes to the community where I’m located at, I’m being looked at as “Okay this is not only a pastor who’s trying to win me to his church, but this dude genuinely understands the things that I like…” (Pauses) So I wouldn’t say effectiveness but it gives me a little bit more relevance.
Shine: You’ve interviewed quite a few artists. So over the years what are some of the positives and negatives that you’ve seen?
Preach Dat Fire: Well it depends. Negatively, because we’ve interviewed so many artists in the genre, I think that many assumed that our motives were for sensationalism rather than true journalism. It was assumed that for a long time we were just looking for hot stories for ratings rather than a genuine concern and dialogue with those interviewed. And it took us a while to break out of that because in the beginning we went in hard, we were asking tough questions but it was from a journalistic pastoral perspective and I think that many assumed it was sensationalism. I think after a while that people began to realize that this dude is genuinely asking good questions and were beginning to enjoy the show.
Shine: What are some of the positives that you’ve seen?
Preach Dat Fire: One positive is that I think we’ve had some great interviews where a lot of artists were given the platform to share their hearts on what they really believed concerning the questions or misconceptions pertaining to the things that the CHH community had been meaning to ask, but never had an opportunity to. We’ve seen that through the interviews, a lot of the artists were able to effectively communicate why they do what they do. From there a lot of the stereotypical misconceptions toward their ministries were broken. For example, when we did the 116 interview we asked, “Why did it appear as if they didn’t collaborate more frequently outside of there camp?” At the time when we asked them, it was the hottest topic and they were able to effective share some of their ministry methods and a lot of the misconceptions were broken after that.
Shine: So what was one of the most enjoyable interviews for you?
Preach Dat Fire: Of the top, Bizzle! (Laughs) Even until this day on our Youtube account it gets the most hits. None of the comments are negative, I still get hit up by a lot of artists saying that on that interview, they didn’t hear Preach Dat Fire but they heard Pastor Alex. They heard a genuine pastor reaching out to a young brother in the faith who might’ve been a little rough around the edges yet at the same time we were able to cover him with love and support. I think that to this day that has been our star interview.
Shine: How does HollaFest Radio go about selecting which artist to interview?
Preach Dat Fire: Well let me clarify, HollaFest Radio is not a mix show or a pod-cast per say. HollaFest Radio is a talk show. It’s a talk show that incorporates some of the things that would make a great mix show. But it’s not necessarily vice versa. Rather the talk show is the focal point and like other talk shows we usually set up the interviews. It’s very rare that we take request because our show is a talk show and were not interviewing an artist, were having dialogue with an artist. We do get submissions and we do listen to them as much as we can but it’s very rare that we actually take a request for an interview. We do take them when an artist has an album dropping and we do promote artist strictly musically, but most of the time our shows are set up prayerfully looking into who be a great guest. And let’s just be real, a lot of times we just go to some of the websites and see whose hot now and who the hot topic is. Most of the time, our interviews are usually with artist who may have some things surrounding their ministry that may need clarification.
Shine: Okay now this is your opportunity, what is a “Fake Church Gangsta”? (Laughs)
Preach Dat Fire: (Laughs) Alright drum roll please! A “Fake Church Gansta” is a humorous way of telling someone that they are acting way out of character. Because you know a Christian can’t be a gangster. It’s inconsistent with Christ like character. So when Christians act out of character it’s my funny way of saying “Yo, stop being a fake church gangsta”. It helps them to think and realize that what they’re doing is oil and water. It doesn’t mix and it’s inconsistent with what the word says. It’s never meant to offend and is always done in a humorous manner and it’s become the catch phrase in holy hip hop not just HollaFest but everybody’s saying it.
Shine: Any final words?
Preach Dat Fire: Definitely. We know that a lot of people have been wondering what’s going on with the show. It’s been about 4 months since we’ve done any consecutive weekly pod-casts and we just want to let the readers know that were still here. What we’ve been doing is just some soul searching and re-adjusting some of our motives. We also decided in 2011 to just go viral so you’ll be seeing more video rather than audio and a lot more concerts. So in case you’ve been asking what’s been going on with Preach and Sista Shorty Blaze, we’re still here. I just been focusing more on my church and hope you guys understand that my first priority is to God and my second is my family. Then third is to be that spiritual father figure in the lives of the parishioners that God has given to me. But, my fourth ministry is to you the fans and faithful listeners of HollaFest Radio. We love you.
Shine: Well Preach, on behalf of Holyculture.net, thank you for taking this time out to speak with us and continued success.

WHY I’M LEAVING.. The Pentecoastal Church
Preach Dat Fire aka Pastor Alex Pagani, talks about life as a senior pastor of He Is Risen Tabernacle, and his decision to leave his former denomination
Pastor Alex Pagani aka Preach Dat Fire’s is no stranger to Christian Hip Hop R&B & Reggaton. His online radio program, HollaFest Radio, is one of today’s most popular Christian radio shows in the country. Using PDF’s gift of getting direct-to-the-point no chaser interviews, has had some label PDF as too “controversial” for the Christian market. (To which Preach won’t deny that his style of interviewing is one of the things that keeps him so unique) Nearly as equal to PDF’s “unique” approach is his outspoken likeness and faith over the years representing his biblical world view thru the Pentecostal church. His love of preaching the gospel thru this denomination is all the reason more that the following interview is intriguing…
WCF: Pastor Alex it is definitely a blessing to be able to reconnect with you. one of our earliest supporters of WCF, we really appreciate you coming to us with your story albeit, a shocking one at that. The term “Pastor” by definition is best described as “A Christian minister or priest having spiritual charge over a congregation or other group.” That said let me start of the interview head-on… what does “Why I’m leaving … the Pentecostal Church” mean? How did you come to the decision of leaving your denomination that you were so much a part of?
Let me first start off by clarifying that YES, / left the Pentecostal movement as concerning my denominational preference, but NO, I did not leave Pentecostalism as concerning my theological persuasion. I still believe in the active work, role & presence of Holy Spirit in infilling all believers thru the baptism of the Spirit & empowering them with supernatural gifts to carry the gospel of Jesus Christ to the ends of the earth. My decision to leave the Pentecostal movement was purely orchestrated by God’s sovereign will, because at the time of my departure I had no real reason to leave, I was a very well known pastor within my denomination, not to mention that I had already established to the holy hip hop community that I was “Pentecostal & unashamed” BUT after a series of events, I received a clear call like Abraham that I was to leave the Pentecostal movement, renounce my credentials within my denomination & wait for further instructions. So in complete trust & surrender to God’s will for my life, I left the Pentecostal movement after 17yrs & thus began my journey of the next phase of ministry the Lord had for me!
So when did you first start thinking about this?
I had been wrestling with the idea of leaving since early 2003, but it wasn’t until 4yrs into my first pastorate, that I really began to entertain the idea of possibly leaving Pentecostalism to a non-denominational setting. Tzhe deeper & higher I rose within the movement, the more red flags began to surface within me concerning the current ecclesiastical dogmas, administrative processes & experiences they upheld with an iron fist that just didn’t seem to line up with scripture or seemed to take more preeminence over the authority of scripture.
When did God give you confirmation on this action?
It wasn’t until mid-summer 2010 that my inner frustration with the Pentecostal movement became overbearing & the Lord made it clear to me that my soon departure was drawing near, that He had been preparing me all these years for this moment, so right in the middle of our relaunch of Holla-Fest, the Lord told me “NOW IS THE TIME….. LEAVE”. Honestly, it wasn’t an easy process and many within Holy Hip Hop & my denomination misunderstood it & some even took it personal & cut all ties with me. cause when I was asked why was / leaving or why was / backing off radio for a season…. honestly didn’t have a clear answer, as all God told me at that time was to “LEAVE NOW” …that’s not a real answer to those who had invested time & effort in making me become who I was in ministry & radio. but then again Abraham didn’t have all the answers as well when he told Sara “God told me to leave my father house”. lololol….
So why now?
As / stated before only God in his omniscience & foreknowledge knows why He felt the time was now…. but imp sure glad he chose this season to do it. me & sista shorty blaze are having the time of our lives & we are watching God work supernaturally in the lives of those he chose to place under our covering. it’s amazing & ALL GOD!!!
How does this affect your role as Senior Pastor of HIRT?
It affects everything I do as a senior pastor. What many don’t know is that, when your under a denominational covering, that covering which was originally initiated to be a support system of those who share in the same ideals, ends up becoming the very hindrance in allowing those under that covering to fully follow what the Lord dictated to their conscience. freedom of interpretation is not allowed under the denominational setting. so anytime the ministers has a notion to do things differently or questions the status quo, it’s usually frowned & seen as rebellion, so now that minister is put in a position where he has to defend his reputation and the only way to do so, is by SUBMITTING externally to the tenets of his denomination, even when internally he doesn’t agree. But…..now that I’m no longer under the covering a denomination, I’m free to allow the Holy Spirit to show me the deeper things of His word & I’m free to teach the church the deep things of God without fear of retribution by those who might not agree with that view. I’m also free to embrace other views of scripture that the Pentecostal movement considered taboo….views like ETERNAL SECURITY…..yes / believe in eternal security!! let me also share that I’m currently under the covering of an Apostle (Israel Pena) with a team of accountability partners along with my spiritual sons & daughter, who as a team, make sure we all are accountable & walking in the integrity of the word.
What defines Pastor Alex now… what is your personal mission statement as a pastor? Believer?
That I’m “100% Christ centered & kingdom driven!!!” Does your belief in doctrine change?
Areas like “the gifts of tongues”, what’s your position?
As I mentioned in the beginning of this interview… my views concerning the active work, gifts & role of the Holy Spirit hasn’t changed. but many other secondary doctrinal views have indeed changed. they’ve changed dramatically, specifically in the area of the teachings of Jesus. I finally understand what Jesus meant in Matthew 28 “teaching them to observe all things I have told you” …..those teaching Jesus taught pre-crucifixion was called KINGDOM. and that kingdom message consisted of 8 embraced that deeper things of God & the kingdom message, the sum total of everything I believe & do now revolve around JESUS himself being the chief cornerstone & substance of this kingdom message & preaching these 8 elements….8 is the number of new beginnings….CATCH THAT!!
For those who don’t know you, let’s get a little back-story, what’s your testimony?
I got saved while serving a 6yr prison term in a maximum security prison. I had a supernatural experience one night in my cell where Jesus walked in my cell and told me in my left ear “Follow Me” immediately following the voice, a whirlwind (like the book of Job) filled my cell & / dropped to my knees and I cried out “ok, Lord…./ accept” and this whirlwind merged with my body and the whirlwind began moving inside my soul. The best way to explain it is when Jesus said in John 7:38 “He who believes in me, out of his belly will flow rivers of living water” it around my soul and I was instantly born again. As time progress in prison, I ran the Spanish bible studies and served as an assistant pastor to the inmate community. after serving the majority of my prison term as a believer, / was released on Jan. 2, 1998 & joined the assemblies of God. / decided to further my biblical studies in a institute and before I graduated I was offered my first church and thus began my journey in the pastorate. here I am 10yrs later and by Gods grace vie have the privileged to open 3 churches & send our ministers to other countries to spread the gospel.
How did God change you? What advise you you give to those who look up to you?
To those who look up to me I would say “embrace the revelation of the paternal & stay in the flow” (those who are embrace kingdom will know exactly what / mean or will seek out to find out what the paternal is)
When did you start HollaFest?
Holla-fest was started in 2002 as an monthly evangelistic event in my local church that was exclusively designed to expose my denomination to a broader view of ministry outside the traditional context to that of a more urban setting. In 2007 we started Holla-Fest Radio as a way to expand our efforts thru podcast. so at the advice of rapfest (Bronx NY) & Jblaze (Miami, FL) we launched as a real urban ministry & Preach Dat Fire/ Sista Shorty Blaze was created & the rest is history.
How has 2011 been for HFR?
Really quiet!!
How does your decision to leave the Pentecostal church affect your congregation?
Whats crazy is that when I presented to the church, that I was thinking about transitioning our church to a non-denominational setting……the WHOLE church agreed and yelled “What took you so long pastor, we been wanting to leave a loooooong time ago” Not one member resisted… not one person on my staff….the church came in 100% agreement that it was time to go……..THATS HOW I KNEW IT WAS GOD….THE LORD HAD ALREADY BEEN WORKING ON THIER HEARTS!!
Are there people in your denomination that will distance themselves from you because of this?
Many called me Judas and felt I betrayed the movement. Some even went as far as to say that the devil was guiding me. There was even a rumor that I was starting a cult. Some called me Jim Jones (cause of my preach Dat Fire shades) Even until this day many Bronx pastors wont fellowship with us. Many have all kinds of views of me, or views they heard others say about me. not once have / chosen to address my haters, neither have I ever made mention of them (except for this interview) I just LOVE EM and keep it moving……KINGDOM BABY!!!
I know you’ve talked about Christian unity in many of your shows. In what ways do we move in UNITY going forward?
Well it depends on what you mean by unity. If your speaking in reference to the “unity of the faith” well Ephesians 4 speaks clearly that in Christ we are already united and that unity is built upon the doctrine of the apostles & prophets with Jesus Christ being the chief cornerstone. So if unity is based on that premise, then there no need to try to unite, cause we are already united….but….if you’re talking about unity in a practical sense, then I would say that Romans 14 says “let each be persuaded in their own mind” this verse advises us that unity is ONLY possible, with those who are persuaded by the things that your persuaded by….but as long as we are all given the right to “individual interpretation” then UNITY IS NOT POSSIBLE in a practical sense, not the unity that people are desiring from scripture (acts 2)…..We will never return to that type of unity…if anything that type of unity ceased to exist by Acts 15 and hasn’t been seen since that time. My final thoughts on Unity in a doctrinal sense, is already done, but unity in a practical sense…. NOT POSSIBLE!!! In the meantime, let’s love & respect each other’s ministries & celebrate that the Gospel of Christ is being preached.
Speaking life, where do you see is the vision for Holla Fest Radio in 2012? For PDF?
I honestly don’t know……Gods vision for me is still blurry concerning Holla-Fest Radio…..when the Lord sheds some light in this area as to which direction we are to go, West Coast Fiya will be the first to know….. right now my first priority is my church & being the best pastor/husband I can be.
What do you want to say to your church members, and followers at Holla Fest?
The Pentecostal movement is a great denomination. Pentecostalism adds flavor to Christianity….what would Christianity be without Pentecostalism, it would be dry, lethargic & boring. I thank God for my Pentecostal upbringing, I wouldn’t be here had it not been for them. I will eternally be grateful to them & they have my utmost support in everything.
What advise can you give to the Pentecostai Church? What do they need to hear?
If there was one area that I could give advise it would be in the area of mentorship…the Pentecostal movement LACKS big time in this area. not on purpose but by default. the emphasis has been so much on the external, signs & wonders, churches services, etc….. That no one is taking any time to spend quality time with their young ministers in training, these ministers are given a bunch of books & thrown in the pastorate with no follow up & expected to learn thru “trail & error” thus the reason why years later these same pastors quit ministry or hold resentment towards the movement. MENTORSHIP THRU RELATIONSHIP……NOT THRU BOOKS!!!
Tell me a time that was “challenging/a blessing” while you served in the Pentecostal church?
The most challenging season was during my first pastorate. I was 26yrs old & / didn’t have a clue what I was doing. I entered my first pastorate with so many ideals & misconceptions about ministry that took me years to finally realize that I had been doing things all wrong. I ended up having to step down from my first pastorate after 4 1/2 years. It was a trying season; I became bitter at ministry & church folk, and it took me a long time to allow God to heal me in this area. The most blessed time I had within the Pentecostal church was seeing all the lives God touched thru our ministry. Most of them are still serving the Lord today & are active in ministry, and every time I see them they always remind me that it was thru our ministry they came to know the Lord (I’m getting teary eyed thinking about it).
If there was one thing about your ministry/HFR/HIRT that you would like to define what would it be?
One word… KINGDOM!!!!
