With all their talk of ‘biblical justice’, not once did Dr. Michael Brown call out the bible twisting in their interview. Towards the end, Heather, Jaco and Les failed to properly handle the parable of the wheat and tares, instead they twisted it to condemn anyone for judging in the church. However, Jesus made it so plain what the parable is about and even interpreted the parable so there was no confusion as to what he was teaching:
He put another parable before them, saying, “The kingdom of heaven may be compared to a man who sowed good seed in his field…
Then he left the crowds and went into the house. And his disciples came to him, saying, “Explain to us the parable of the weeds of the field.” He answered, “The one who sows the good seed is the Son of Man. The field is the world, and the good seed is the sons of the kingdom. The weeds are the sons of the evil one, and the enemy who sowed them is the devil. The harvest is the end of the age, and the reapers are angels. Just as the weeds are gathered and burned with fire, so will it be at the end of the age. The Son of Man will send his angels, and they will gather out of his kingdom all causes of sin and all law-breakers, and throw them into the fiery furnace. In that place there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth. Then the righteous will shine like the sun in the kingdom of their Father. He who has ears, let him hear.
Matthew 13:24, 36-43
Here is the interview in question.
In this episode of Holy Disruption, host Heather Schott is joined by Dr. Michael Brown to address the accusations of sexual abuse that have surrounded him since late 2024. Heather, along with guests Jaco Booyens and Pastor Les Cody, dive deep into the timeline of events, exposing the inaccuracies and lies propagated by social media and some podcast platforms. They discuss the toxic culture within the church and society at large, manipulated by a spirit of accusation and division. The episode also highlights the broader implications for the Body of Christ, warns against the spirit of Jezebel, and calls for repentance, truth, and unity in the church. This revealing conversation aims to clear Dr. Brown’s name, restore biblical justice, and offer a sincere plea for discernment and healing among believers.

“I’m 63. I can tell you beyond a shadow of a doubt, as a young girl from a broken home, that I had several spiritual fathers growing up and into college in the 80s, 40+ years ago. And NOT ONE of them ever acted like Michael Brown did to Sarah. I was in close proximity with them during rides to church at times and rides home, and trips. I would have never accepted or expected that behavior. My mother would not have accepted as “normal” either. It wasn’t appropriate then, it’s not appropriate now.”

“I agree! It really baffles me that in a situation of this caliber you could justify talking to just one side and taking a stance. I get the relational bias Landon has to Dr Brown, but to completely avoid meeting with Sarah and Ron to hear from them is wild. Dare I say irresponsible and inexcusable.”

“As someone who has family members that have been trafficked and sexually abused, I cannot stay at Mercy Culture because of the way this situation with Dr Michael Brown is being handled. You can’t say you love justice and mercy without loving truth. So where is the podcast with Sarah or Ray? What about their story? Celebrating and defending a man that not only was found guilty of sexual clergy abuse/adultery but also lied and attempted to cover it up —is not the hill to die on.”

“Not a single human man has ever existed that is absolutely “above reproach” in your definition… Tell me I’m wrong? So what is this scripture telling us? that a man must be absolutely perfect? Or that he is a man that will not allow sin to master him. That’s exactly what dr. Brown did.”
@brknhrtdsl

“I think because it’s in the past. If we must have perfect pasts, none of us could be used by God. He repented. He is now above reproach because he is walking with God now.”

“Yeah this feels like some serious gaslighting. No one is saying God doesn’t forgive or that we shouldn’t judge. The “exposure channels” are simply stating the criteria for being a teacher. “He’s learned absolutely nothing through this whole thing!! 😡 He’s repeating his old script. He’s not learned that Sarah’s actions and letters back then do not erase how she felt internally then, and then came to realized the full extent of what happened to her later. It takes years sometimes to grapple with it. It’s not about how HE viewed his actions. It’s how SHE felt it harmed her. No defense is necessary!!! You just repent for how she felt it harmed her, whether then or years later!! OMG!!! He’s pathetic!! 😱”

“Brown said that his top priority is to make things right with Sarah. He said he was appalled that his previous actions had hurt her and caused her to lose her faith. None of Brown’s current actions bring any healing to Sarah.”
@will_hargreaves
1 hour ago
“He didn’t say that his actions had caused her to lose faith. In fact, he said that it was his understanding that she had left on good terms with him, but had got into a relationship with a non-Christian. It is reported that she has since married the non-Christian male but has come back to faith. This would appear to be corroborated by her letter to Dr Brown saying that she’s trying to get him to attend church with her.”

“I love you Dr Brown. Your emotional affair was sinfully kept a secret. The emotional affair was not up to the two couples to hide. Sometimes our best intentions are not enough. This is the reason it is now a scandal. You have a dozen or so loud people that want you burned at the stake and your actions have given them real fuel. Hurt people are vulnerable to believe a lie. They have believed the lie and are now perpetuating the lie. You are getting the death penalty for jay walking. It is not right. And also “Sin will take you farther than you want to go, keep you longer than you want to stay, and cost you more than you want to pay”. You are in the process of paying the price you did not want to pay. You are a high profile teacher. Teachers are rightfully judged more severely. Humility, humility, humility. Thoughts and prayers. You got this.”

“In my estimation, Dr. Brown is a good yet imperfect man who loves Jesus who made a minimal mistake 25 years ago. May all these online busy-bodies who are eagerly obsessed with cancel-culture “struggle sessions” be dealt back with it in equal measure. “For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured back to you.””

“Goodness, ‘online busy bodies’…an interesting phrase, are you a prophet yourself? Also it’s probably best when you quote scripture to understand the context of it. It sounds like you are ‘casting the first stone’ and putting a curse on people. Will you expect equal measure to be done to yourself when you make a complaint about an injustice done to yourself? Have some discernment. M Brown even if he isn’t guilty of the S.A. claim, he is a flaky, false teacher who’s best bud is the looniest of the loons – Sid Roth – who platforms the upper Eschelon of the looniest of the loons on his ‘it’s supernatural!!!'”

“I’ve been blessed in the past by Dr Brown’s ministry. At the same time we have a watered down gospel in the church today. People don’t understand sin and repentance. There is no restoration until there is repentance, and there is no forgiveness until there is recognition and admission of what you’ve done. I haven’t seen Dr Brown take full responsibly yet”
