‘Physics of Heaven’ – incorporating New Age mysticism, spirit guides, auras, angels, revival & healing energy.

Much ‘ink’ has been spilled reviewing Bethel’s very popular but heretical book “Physics of Heaven”, authored by Judy Franklin and Ellyn Davis. Judy Franklin is on staff at Bethel Church in Redding and Ellyn Davis is a published home school author and researcher of ‘quantum mysticism’.

According to the Senior Associate Leader at Bethel Church, Kris Vallotton,

‘This book is a foretaste of things to come.’

Reinforcing, as senior leaders, their foundational New Age doctrine, Both Bill Johnson and his wife Beni also contributed chapters to the book.

A clear warning against the book was posted in a recent Amazon review:

“This book was so obviously New Age syncretism with Christianity it is hard to know where to start. Are there vibrations in the supernatural that we need to tap into? No! Does God play games with people? No! does he hide himself in sound and light? No! Does God speak to people through “hints” of other things like sound? No! Does God speak through sound, light, energy, frequencies, vibrations, and quantum physics? No! Unfortunately this book espouses all of these ideas, and takes all of the scriptures out of context and applies meanings to them that the original scriptural authors did not intend. If you want a smorgasbord of New Apostolic Reformation teaching and leaders this is your book. The forward is by Kris Vallatton and chapters by the late Bob Jones (admitted sexual abuser), Bill Johnson Apostle and leader of Bethel church, Redding, CA, and Bill’s wife Beni.”

The following Youtube discussion is the latest review by three former proponents of these aberrant teachings. All now followers of the true Jesus, saved by the true gospel.

But God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us, even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ – by grace you have been saved – and raised us up with him and seated us with him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, so that in the coming ages he might show the immeasurable riches of his grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus. For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God,  not a result of works, so that no one may boast.  For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.” Ephesians 2:4-10

Melissa Dougherty writes:

“What’s so shocking about the book from Bethel, Physics of Heaven? Hold on to your chairs, people! We teamed up to make a pretty in depth video about the book ‘Physics of Heaven’ written by the leaders at Bethel Church in Redding California. It embodies the direction of the church. This book is incredibly damning to Bethel and their leaders.

Let it be known that I myself, Melissa, do not hold to cessationist beliefs, nor do I think Charismatic churches in general are in error. I do not even hold full on reformed views. This video is about a hyper-charismatic church teaching and blatantly promoting new age teachings. I think *anyone* in the body of Christ should be concerned about this. Want proof that the New Age is not just kicking down the door at Bethel, or subtly sneaking in, but rather being welcomed with open arms and a red carpet? Then look no further than this book.

The leaders of Bethel, including Bill Johnson, Cal Pierce, Beni Johnson, Ellyn Davis, Judy Franklin, Kris Valloton and many others contribute their thoughts on why new age practices such as spirit guides, communicating with angels, crystals, astral projection, (visiting glory realms), speaking things into existence, trances, power objects, and many many more actually belong to the church. They’re encouraging others to be ‘brave enough’ to go outside the norm and embrace these concepts that the new age has supposedly ‘stolen’ all in the name of a Second Pentecost and Holy Revival.

With Lindsay’s background at Bethel, mine in New Thought Christianity, and Zack’s background in Word of Faith, we felt the need to express our concerns about this book. We put a lot into preparing for this video. We share our research, frustrations and commentary throughout the video. This isn’t a short video. It was almost three hours long before editing. We easily could have doubled that. This is something we’re passionate about addressing and are extremely concerned with the direction that this very popular and growing church is taking. This is a loving but straightforward video about Physics of Heaven, and the direction the leaders are taking.”
