How many of our readers have had a similar experience to that of Doreen Virtue? How many still believe their “visions” have come from Christ? And more importantly, how many false pastors and prophets are yet to repent of their own deceptive claims of “visions and dreams” apparently straight from the “Throne Room of God”? How many of their books are still being sold – eagerly consumed by their deceived followers? No doubt we can all agree there are untold numbers on many bookshelves and in church bookstores around the world.
“Every plant that my heavenly Father has not planted will be rooted up. Let them alone; they are blind guides. And if the blind lead the blind, both will fall into a pit.” Matthew 15:13-14
The following testimony is one that many self-proclaimed “pastors and leaders” in the global church community should be alerted to, lest they perish for their own unrepentance.
“Kiss the Son, lest he be angry, and you perish in the way, for his wrath is quickly kindled. Blessed are all who take refuge in him.” Psalm 2:12
What happened to Doreen Virtue on January 7, 2017? Was it really Jesus or a demon? In the following video, Pastor Chris Rosebrough of Fighting for the Faith points to Scripture to explain everything biblically.
“This is a video about my vision – we are going to unpack it with the amazing help of Ps. Chris Rosebrough from “Fighting For The Faith”. Many of you know that Pastor Rosebrough was very helpful to me in the beginning parts of my walk with Christ, when I was unknowingly following two false teachers. And then I saw videos on “Fighting For the Faith” on why they were false teachers, by comparing what they were saying to what the Bible says and I stopped following them. I invited Pastor Rosebrough on my YouTube Channel and he has come alongside me as a brother in Christ. So godly for him to come alongside me and to help me to understand what happened to me on January 7, 2017 with my vision.”
“Now a lot of drama came up recently because there was some disparaging videos, some hatred and finger-pointing and accusations going on and when that started to happen, it was one of the first times ever than anyone had pointed to my vision to my face. I understand people have been gossiping about me but had not come to me except for my friend Taz Bright, he was the only one who had taken the time to help me correct that. But until this whole drama came up, I didn’t realise what was really going on with the vision. You know, in Romans 8:28, we learn that God can use everything for good, for those who believe and love Him and that’s really what happened in this experience – because I took down my testimony and the little self-published book that I had to examine what happened to me. I was horrified to learn that my testimony of seeing Jesus may have led to some people wanting to have a vision, which is spiritually dangerous. Because it can lead you to being open to demonic deception and to meeting the false christ that’s prophesied in the bible.”
“So I took this down and then I was accused of lying and damage-control and called just horrible names. Anyway I’ve looked at what happened by reading some books, talking to brothers and sisters in Christ who are continuationists, and cessationists, and open but cautious, and really praying and looking at the Bible.”
“Finally when I was talking to Pastor Chris Rosebrough yesterday, what he said finally clicked. Because I couldn’t understand what happened with my vision and I didn’t want to say if it was a demon, if it was in fact Jesus. I didn’t want to say it was Jesus if it was a demon. And I and others, we couldn’t understand how could it be a demon if this whole experience pointed me to the Bible, to the gospel. I didn’t understand it but when I talked with Pastor Chris Rosebrough yesterday, he pointed to scripture that helped me to understand that it was two separate experiences. It was the vision, and it was the epiphanies that helped me to know that Jesus is the son of God who died for our sins and that the Bible is God’s inerrant word. So while this was all going on, I had written a book called “Deceived No More” after an editor at Thomas Nelson had approached me in early 2019 to write a book about New Age deception. Now the book is about my years, decades, in the New Age. I was travelling with top New Age authors all around the world. Not to brag but I was the best New Age selling author at the top New Age publishing house.”
“It’s to give glory to God for the miracle of saving me out of that complete spiritual blindness and giving me a new heart and a new life and me repenting and renouncing the New Age. So this editor asked me to write a book about the New Age encroaching into the church and New Age deception. So I’ve written this book. I really feel like it’s important because it exposes things that I haven’t seen exposed before. I was an insider! And yet there was two and a half pages in this book that was already at the printer by the time that this whole drama was going up. And I wrote to my editor right away and she said it was too late to change it – but now she says that after this first printing, we can take a look at changing the two and a half pages to reflect biblically what I now understand to have happened with the vision.”
“The vision didn’t save me, so the farther I get away from that experience and the time, the smaller it is as a part of my testimony. When I first was saved, it was a larger part of my testimony because I was closer in time to it. But so much has happened since then and so anyway my point is that, it is in the book. I do apologise again if that two and a half pages, or you hearing my testimony of the vision has in any way caused any stumbling block – as you’ll see with Pastor Chris Rosebrough, it’s very interesting what the devil was trying to do. And how the Holy Spirit pointed me to Jesus and the gospel which resulted in my salvation, my repentance., and my renouncing of my previous work even though other people are still selling my old work against my requests that I have completely renounced and come out of the New Age as of 2017. My husband also left the New Age at the same time as me and now we’re in a solid biblically-based, gospel-centred church, under pastoral care. And anyway, I’m just so grateful to God for this gift of salvation through His mercy and His grace and my faith in Jesus which is a gift from God.”
“So here’s Pastor Rosebrough…”
“And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good,[h] for those who are called according to his purpose. For those whom he foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, in order that he might be the firstborn among many brothers. And those whom he predestined he also called, and those whom he called he also justified, and those whom he justified he also glorified.” Romans 8:28-30
