In the past, Michael Brown insisted that his Brownsville Pensacola revival and the controversial Toronto Blessing had no relationship with each other.
Christian Research Institute noted:
Michael Brown, an apologist for Pensacola, has gone so far as to deny any relationship between the two: “The bottom line is that there is no formal or informal relationship between Toronto and Pensacola, and the spirit and thrust of the meetings are very different.”

NAR proponent Don Nori (of Destiny Image Publishers) puts out the Destiny Image Digest, and back in the winter of 1977 Nori published an article, ‘Portals in Pensacola’ where Brown made this claim. In the article Dr Michael Brown attempted to defend Pensacola by denying its connection to the Toronto Blessing:
“He [Steve Hill] received a personal refreshing when prayed for by Sandy Millar in England (whom, as Mr. Strom [New Zealand author and outspoken critic of Pensacola] points out, was touched through Toronto), but that was certainly not the prelude to revival in his own life. (In saying this, I neither affirm nor deny that God was working in Toronto; I only state the facts as they pertain to Steve.) The bottom line is that there is no formal or informal relationship between Toronto and Pensacola, and the spirit and thrust of the meetings are very different.”

The ‘spirit and thrust’ behind the Toronto Blessing and Pensacola Outpouring are very different? Who are we to believe when Michael Brown’s good friends, Bill Johnson and Randy Clark, affirm that the ‘spirit and thrust’ are the same:
Bill Johnson affirms Michael Brown is part of the New Apostolic Reformation.
The bottom line is that Brown says there is no formal or informal relationship between Toronto and Pensacola. Really? Because it seems their stories just don’t line up. Why hide the truth, has deception become their native language?
Out of all publications, the NAR ‘Destiny Image Digest’ propaganda publication was used by Pensacola leaders and Dr Michael Brown to DEFEND his revival. Just more proof that Dr Michael Brown cannot be a trusted as a Christian teacher or leader.
