Benny Hinn claims he is an “Apostolic Leader” and an “Apostle” on his website:
“One of Benny Hinn’s greatest ministries has been as mentor and apostle for a growing army of Christian leaders.”
This is why back in the 80s and 90s, Benny Hinn was claiming that God would strike people dead if people questioned him and other “men of God” like Paul Crouch.
According to NAR Leader, C. Peter Wagner, greater amounts of spiritual authority are delegated by the Holy Spirit to individuals, that is, Apostles:
“In my judgment, views of leadership and leadership authority constitute the most radical of the nine changes from traditional Christianity. Here is the main difference: The amount of spiritual authority delegated by the Holy Spirit to individuals. I have attempted to use each word in that statement advisedly.” [Source]
You can see Benny Hinn wielding this delegated ‘spiritual authority’ and his so-called ‘apostolic authority’ in this statement:
“People of God, quit attacking men of God. By name! Someone is attacking me because something I am teaching. Let me tell you something, brother! You watch it!
Dear God in heaven I wish I could just- they call to minister my foot! You know, I’ve looked for just one verse in the Bible. I just can’t seem to find it. One verse that said if you don’t like them, kill them. I really wish I could find it.
But don’t mention people’s names on your radio program and your TV program thinking you’re doing God’s service! You’re not!
Benny Hinn also states that:
“Just as his life was changed forever by the impartation of anointing and wisdom by pioneers like Kathryn Kuhlman, Maxwell Whyte, Oral Roberts, Rex Humbard, Lester Sumrall, and his father-in-law, Roy Harthern, Pastor Benny is increasingly mindful that God has clearly shown him that what he has experienced in over 40 years of ministry must be passed on to younger believers and Christian leaders.”
“Pioneer” is another code word for Apostle, one of them (Oral Roberts) emerging before the NAR’s man-made Charismatic Renewal Movement (CRM). This should alert us to the fact that, yet again, the NAR and its Apostles today can still be traced back to their heretical beginnings of the New Order of the Latter Rain cult.
You can read the Pentecostal AOG in America condemning specific practices of the New Order of the Latter Rain. We wish to highlight these two:
“RESOLVED, That we disapprove of those extreme teachings and practices which, being unfounded Scripturally, serve only to break fellowship of like precious faith and tend to confusion and division among the members of the Body of Christ, and be it hereby known that this 23rd General Council disapproves of the so-called, ” New Order of the Latter Rain” , to wit:
1. The overemphasis relative to imparting, identifying, bestowing or confirming gifts by the laying on of hands and prophesy.
2. The erroneous teaching that the church is built upon the foundation of present day apostles and prophets…”

About Pastor Benny…
People around the globe know Pastor Benny Hinn as a noted evangelist, teacher, and the author of best-selling books including Good Morning, Holy Spirit, Prayer That Gets Results, Blood in the Sand, and Lamb of God. His TV program, This Is Your Day, is among the world’s most-watched Christian programs, seen daily in 200 countries. Yet there is much more to the story of the man, and his ministry, who has impacted the world for more than four decades with the life-saving and miracle-working message of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
Benny Hinn was born on December 3, 1952, in the port city of Jaffa (part of modern Tel Aviv), Israel, where his family had set up residence as immigrants to Palestine from Greece. In 1968, not long after the Six-Day War, he moved with his family to Canada. In February 1972 Benny Hinn’s life took on an entirely new meaning when he surrendered his heart and life to Jesus Christ as high school friends prayed with him. Soon afterward, he was called to minister the Gospel. In April 1974, young Benny received a vision of people falling into a roaring inferno and heard the words:
“If you do not preach, every soul who falls will be your responsibility!”
On December 7, 1974, four days after his 22nd birthday, Benny Hinn first stood behind a pulpit to preach the Gospel—his stuttering problem suddenly healed. From that moment, he would fearlessly seek to fulfill our Lord’s Great Commission.
